Title: Sliding down slope on CVT Latio in D gear
Post by: bulleth9 on April 19, 2010, 02:58:43 PM
Hi,

Any brothers experience sliding down at slope or carpark ramp when when CVT gear box is in D mode and brakes are not applied?

My friends told me its not normal for Auto cars to slide backward when in D mode.

Hope my CVT gearbox is not spoilt.

Thank you.
Charles

bro i'm in 4AT.. not CVT.. but sometimes i tink if my load is full or almost full and the slope is steep.. my latio will slide backwards a little before it moves off..

was also concerned abt this :out:.. can other bros share their experience too??

Is normal, full load will be heavier, the driving force not strong enough to hold the car stationary before you step on the pedal.

If you're really afraid of rolling back and hitting cars behind(leg not fast enough to go from brake pedal to accelerator), do the MT way they teach you in driving school. Parking brake first, step on accelerator, the release brake.
