from what i know, should be the mileage needed to let your engine get accustomed to your driving habit, and to get "seasoned". I was told by my sister that we should not rev up too hard for new cars as it may wear out the engine faster... As to whether is this true, i not sure though....
Can la, drive to malacca is just a short trip, just don't chiong max speed lor.... some cars in bigger countries also drive this distance one what, no big issue. Unless u are talking about driving to Thailand, then that's a big deal. haha :yehyeh:

Hmm...new car, should whack till it max speed sometime... to test your car performance so it will not be a faulty product by the manufacturer. If your engine die while you testing your car, still can go back as it under warranty wat. :)
Go thailand is big deal meh? you give me your car and buy me fuel+food.. I proof that we can drive there without any "big deal"... :devil2:
Just enjoy driving but safety come first. :D

Just don't run too fast.
BTW, are you on mineral oil? Try to change to full synthetic if possible for your EO. Since yours a new car, everything should be fine. But better to check through first for safety.
Not like in SG, you know where to find workshop or what, but in MY, unless you know it well. =)
have a good trip up.

I drove my car to Malacca when its just one week old. til date, it is still running as per normal. Someone told me dun drive at the constant speed all the way back to prevent the engine damage ........ Not sure is it true.
Rgds.

Modern cars are so well built and well tested in factory that this whole thing about 'run in' is no longer as important as before. By the time the car leaves the factory, it has already 'covered' hundreds, if not thousands of KM already.
So, don't worry about it.
