Title: Intermittent Air Con Problem (advice needed)
Post by: coffeeshake on January 11, 2011, 02:58:37 PM
hello all, need some of your advice on the following

recently, my air con is blowing out warm air during normal drive.. my setting is at 24deg and the air con could be cold but then maybe for around 10-15 seconds, some warm air will come out.

is it because the air outside that is colder than the air con inside the car that causes it or should i change my filter or send back tan chong?

appreciate any comments  :D

if you set the temperature lower (say.. 20 degC), does your aircon still blow hot air?

i suspect it is due to low temperature outside the car (eg. when it's cold and raining).
Your aircon blow hot air to maintain your set temp of 24degC since it detect a low temp at the thermostat.

I suggest just set at a lower temperature (20-22 degC) and set fan speed at low.  No need to send the car for checkup unless you still get hot air blowing.

I suspect if you send back to TC, they may tell you compressor is weak and "recommend" to change (>$1k).
