Title: reset ecu
Post by: alghojo on January 16, 2011, 09:35:50 PM
I have tried resetting the ecu using this method, found here http://forum.thelatioclub.org/index.php/topic,6305.0.html

1. Ignition "ON", count to 3.
2. Depress/Release pedal 5 times...hard and fast.
3. Count to 10 (not 7!) and fully depress pedal
4. Count to 12 (SES should be blinking), release pedal
5. Count to 10, depress pedal
6. Count to 10, release pedal.
7. Turn off ignition, then start engine. Done!

On step 4, the SES is blinking. The SES still blinking while going thru step 5 & 6. Was my reset successful?

at step 4, after pressing the acc pedal for a couple of seconds, the CEL will blink.
Continue pressing the acc pedal until the CEL becomes steady again.
After tat, release pedal and turn on ignition.

tried to reset again and this time after the CEL blinks, it does not becomes steady but instead it stops and blink a bit faster and repeat itself. I cannot make the blink steady. any comment?

Is it normal for fc to increase after ecu reset

The ECU has a self learning curve and it is normal to have slightly higher consumption for the first 80Km or so , or at least in my case.

So once it learns you driving style , it should revert back to pre reset.

Other brothers here may have different findings.
