Hi Everyone,
Just had a scary experience just now. Was about to drive off my car after dinner, engine started, gear engaged to D but car only moved inches and no gear transmission sound. And then the engine light "on"
Turn off car for half a minute and start again and the gear engaged and moved on as per normal. :confused1:
When I reached home, on and off the ignition but no problem at all, can drive as per normal.
Anyone had the same experience? My milage is almost 92000 km and 3 yrs 5 months old. :(
Appreciate any advise. Thanks.

Sent my car to Tan Chong to have their computer diagnose the problem. Turns out that the manifold sensor was spoilt. Cost me $130 for the part and $70 for labour.
Lucky got nothing to do with the CVT transmission. ;D

so total you spend $200 for the replacement of sensor..

Gosh... think I experience it once.... exactly as descript by kgleo but only once... Not sure if I should send to TC for a check. Btw my keyless entry sometimes cant function.. change the battery but still happen at times.... any one else had same issue?

As mentioned in earlier posts, maybe you can check the wiring sensor behind the rearview mirror n c if it's properly connected to the rearview mirror

this sensor quite easy to malfunction.. infact i drove for 2 months with the engine light on lol... before i send it to replace..

If your car is under warranty, better make it fast. Just in case

Mine is affected ever since I installed the Black Vue car camera. Seems like some interference between the set and the remote sensor behind rear view mirror. If I bring back TCM they sure ask me to remove the camera. But if I bring back to the workshop that installed camera there is nothing much they can do too...
-
Same for me. Installed a video camera which tap power directly and it is affecting the sensitivity of the remote.
Yup i think nothing can be done except removing it

Did you try bringing to TCM? Wonder whether they can changed the operating frequency of the remote sensor?
-
TCM will tell u not to place the camera there. They won't do any modification to their part since it is out of their scope....i am quite sure on this....

I discover that the problem seems to be more prevalent when I set the Black Vue to PARK mode. In this mode the unit is on standby but the sensor is activated. The sensor works on the same theory of a radar where a radio wave is emitted and any object approaching will send the waves back and the unit will start recording. Probably the radio frequency of the unit is too close Nissan remote sensor frequency resulting in interference to its normal function.

Yup. Cos when the video camera is off the sensor works fine....
