Title: IKEY faulty / insensitive
Post by: tchekchuan on March 21, 2011, 02:27:43 PM
HI, my IKEY seems to be giving me problem.. I attempted to press the door button many times also cannot open as well as press the button from the remote... worse still... it also doesnt start the engine and i got to use the mechanical key to open it.
I changed the battery twice this year and still it doesnt resolve. I am using the energizer CR2025 battery...

I have just signed up the NPMP and my ride is about 2 years plus.. If i go TCM will they service my ikey for free or maybe you can tell me wat is the problem.

I opened up the ikey cover and everything looks normal.. no wiring or burnt mark/problem.

Please advise.

can you guys ahh,....

I have same issue ikeys was not sensitive, and the door sensor shows that one of my door is not closed properly. Apparently one of the fuse is blown, by changing the fuse all are fine now.

hi! I suspect mine got the same problem... after i went to autoimage to do my audio and to wire up my gps n car recorder, my ikey turns insensitive when i am inside the car, it keep on can't detect my key. but when i am outside, no issue.

so where is that cable? behind the rear view mirror on top of the roof where the windscreen meets? what to do if its loose?

my problem was solve. Apparently some of the wires was lose or disconnected. Once this wires are fix your ikey will be as good as before. Check the wires for the reverse sensor or additional gadget that u install in the car, for me it was the door led light that was cut accidently.

the cable is located behind the rear view mirror, move your head rite to the front of your windscreen & you can see a cable behind the rear-view mirror, see if its loose/not connected properly.

SOrry, what do you mean by set the sensitive level down? How do you do that? You set this on your car sensor or the camera itself?

Thanks for your posting.

The Black Vue settings can be changed. In Park mode that is a surveillance mode, it starts recording once it senses a presences approaching the car. It is this sensitivity level that can be adjusted. The sensitivity if I am not wrong is by the distance, a lower sensitivity just means a shortage area of coverage.
