Yes, this is the primarily symtoms you will be getting if the steering coupling is faulty.

To share with you

After my 3yrs / 100k km warranty is over.

I was having the sterling coupling problem and TCM @ BT wanna to charge me $300+ for it. I reluctant to pay for it.
They change it for me at no cost.

Yesterday, my servicing didn't cover for sterling coupling because it's still problem free.

TCM is great to "hold" us back by offering FOC change of sterling coupling after warranty is over. I Believe it is partly due to I am their NPMP loyal customer! Signed up twice liao. Still have one remaining "Pkg A" to service in my next 10k.

Cheers.

Well every time i drive at a slow speed and go over a hump I can hear a light knocking sound. Is it due to the steering coupling? I ever complained to them before and I think they did something to it but the sound still persisted. And now undercarriage I can hear a ringing sound every time the car is stationary and I am stepping on the brakes. Honestly, I don't think the SA actually knows where the problems are cos I have complained a few times and each time they come back to say they tighten some joints here and there. But the problems still persist.

I am also having this knocking sound from the back.... Have not gone to TCM for the last 2 years, mileage now 130k and 5.5 years old, if manufacture fault then will TCM change for free? Any one has gone to them for this issue and get free replacement.

check if the noise is coming from the exhaust.

check if the noise is coming from the exhaust.

noticed the sound is coming from the undercarriage more to directly below the front seat. tried for a few times but still did not manage to pin point which is causing the irritating sound.

The ringing sound is from the exhaust. Will need to change the exhaust collar both front and back undercarriage.

Hey I think we have the same problem, the sound is only audible driving at a low speed over uneven road...sounds like "tok tok" but very faint.

Hi all,

For me when I turn my steering all the way to right or left, whether be it moving forward or reversing, my car will jerk very hard and the radio and air con will switch off, but the engine's still running. Is that considered steering coupling problem also?
