Hi guys,
Need to change tyres already. BS Re001 although grippy but wear damn fast. I only use one year nia. Slightly less than 40k mileague. I realised the aquaplanning also not that good when left 60%. Drifted when travelling at 80km/h on medium rain and worst of all the sonata cab in front of me just went straight with no problem. Tot of changing to another brand, maybe sligthly lower end ones as the tyre prices have increased tremendously. Anyone recommendations.
Thought of up sizing to 205/55/16. Anyone using this size care to share whether will hit side fender? I'm on OZ ultraleggras offset 37.
Thanks.
Cheers

me on 16", yoko tyre (so-so only)
more stable & easy on corner
fuel up a bit
BS GR90 seems to hv gd review,
price a bit high.
think worth to try
cheers

I have been on 205/55/16 since day 1, can't remember what's my offset, it's either 38 or 40 but I have no issue with this tyre size.

Hi,
Would u know the estimated price per tyre?
I was introducted Hankook ME01 the other day. Tread design similar to GR90, 150+/tyre. anyone used this tyre before. Seems like no FR.
Thanks.

Went to check prices. BS GR90 205/55/16 is 15 bucks more ex than ps3 which i almost changed. But the tyre shop say will hit fender. Ask me change ps3 205/50/16 but made in thai. worst of all it is more ex than the bigger sized 205/55/16 which is made in Europe.
Can't decide now. tyre prices going up next month somemore.

I'm on 205/55r16, previously was on 205/50r16. no rubbing against fender.
Was on RE001 now on PS3 and felt FC became worst could be EO, tire profile & more grippy or drive pattern change as got caught in more jams. lol
But the comfort is same with RE001 and grip is way better both in wet & dry.

pizzaboy... Neuton nt5000 is made in whr? mine currently was falken 912.. not bad.. but tot of changing more grippy tires.. ;D

205 / 55 / r16 will not hit fender and i even on coil leave around 2 fingers gap. full turn also no problem.

great to hear that 205/55R16 is ok cos planning to upsize it at next change, maybe continentals.
now running on 205/50R16 Goodyear LS2000 hybrid II, good grip despite being relatively quiet. 30+k liow still ok

Which contis u shortlisted? Do share ur review after change and run-in

when i change my tyres recently, i was told by the shop that 205/55/16 will not fit.. thus i got 205/50/16.
so i guess there is conflicting views from bros and tyre shops

Looks like we are on the same setup. I also decided on the 205/55/16 PS3. So far so good, never rub fender or mud guards. And yes.... FC went up. Not sure why though. I weighted the PS3 vs RE001, PS3 lighter leh...= better FC? But i feel that the PS3 are better in the wet. Dry almost the same. Only slight disappoint is that I expected it to be much quieter than RE001 but they seem to be on par.

on 55 profile the immediate notice is the slow pickup from stationary. even on lighter weight rubber it still happen. thus it nothing to do with the weight of the rubber. the increase of profile will slow you down.

Can our latio sport take Hankook V12 195/55/15? Anyone on this size?
Thinking of changing as I heard V12 is grippier and quieter (and naturally more expensive) compared to my current 195/60/15 K415....

hmm juz curious.. what is the ideal profile for 15".. and comparing 15" vs 16"... which is more stable??

hey,
i'm on 205/50/16. M exploring to change to 205/55/16 to make the ride looks 'better'. I read that pick up will be impacted. Would like to check whether there will be any concern going over high humps, having full load (ie. 4 adults at the back) and cornering stablity (due to slight increase of vehicle height).
Any advice for me?
thank u (:

Have been on 205/55/16 since day 2 of my ride, coming to 5 1/2 years now, no issue what so ever.

I'm currently running on 205/55/16. So far 3 ppl behind plus full boot to and fro malaysia(highway and trunk road) so far ok. 4ppl behind i think more likely suspension will bottom up instead. As for cornering stablilty, I increase pressure to 240 up from 230 when using 205/50/16. Higher pressure less tyre flex? Latio CG high so i guess not much diff. Overall look wise... better! The fender to tyre gap is less. Initially acceleration a bit more sluggish but got used to it. Intial FC after changing a bit higher for 2 weeks afterwhich, back to normal. Full tank till light come on 430-450km. 50% highway, 50% normal road.
Hope this helps.
