but due to ******** coe, the price really  :(

looking at the specs, cant really see any difference from my end 2006 latio except that it is better looking exteriorwise.

HR15DE engine, is it the same our latio?

I don't think that this car is a replacement for Latio. The list price is cheaper and with a less powerful engine that produces 99bhp vs Latio's 109bhp. If I am not wrong, this car is made in Thailand like the cheapo Toyotas and not from Japan. It is a matter of personal taste but I find it ugly, I prefer our Latio's more angular lines.

In likelyhood, both cars share the same engine but the Almera's appears to have been tuned for better FC and thus lower power.

Latio's replacement should come next year and I find it pretty nice, rather Lexus IS like:

so i think its the replacement for the Sedan version of Latio..

For Latio Sports version will be what tao has posted

Oh just found out that Almera is the all new Sunny in other markets and as what Derrick is saying, it is also the replacement for Latio sedan.

Which means that Singapore no more Sunny.

And in future, for 2012 Latio, there will only be a premium hatchback.

Hi Bros,

Almera is made in Thailand.  I think the HR15DE engine is the latest which produce 99 bhp.  The models sold in Singapore only 4AT and MT.  The models sold in Thailand come with the newest Xtronic CVT which has an auxiliary gear box and idling-stop feature (more fuel efficient), also only MT and CVT available, no AT. ;)
