Hi guys
My car agent advised not to service my car in TCM with a few reasons... (not cover in this thread yet)
And, also said that every 40k km, must drain out & renew the transmission oil?
I always sign up for NPMP from TCM @ Bkt Timah. Mileage is now 113k km ^_^
Any advise?
Thanks.
Your iagree.
-
last time my NPMP i am quite satisfied, but heard that they are more 'stingy' nowadays.
examples, only change brake pads only if it is lesser than a certain diameter whereas last time, they will change for me at the major servicing. last time cvt oil change is 60k, now TCM only change it at 100k.
disclaimer, i only heard, not sure true or not.
actaully, during NPMP, you still can request them to replace your At oil every 40k, but i believe must pay topup.
-
hi dsrio
i see. good info.
yes, i think can req for "topup", if we are under NPMP, for topup of at oil shld be foc? unless it's for drained out & "renewed" a new one (this is covered under my npmp intake at 60k km.
the agent said our latio AT oil must be chg at every 40k km, bcoz it's to take care of the "errr, dont know which part, i think is the gear? as it cost few K to be replaced if it is not well taken care of!"
i also noticed TCM only chg my Front Brake Pad only (2 times so far in the past 4yrs, i signed up 2 times NPMP and had just finished the last intake at 103k km 3mths ago). Always front brake pad nia? true?
and during 103k km servicing, they advised me to chg the tyres, i let them chg the tyres at S$80+ per piece, their donno what tyres, i dont feel good abt it... what's the name...hmmm... let me think.... Falcon????
-
hi guys
i check nissan website. their latest NPMP pricing has revised (upwards)!! more expensive... by abt 10% more..
http://nissan.com.sg/images/NewNPMP.pdf
-
sorry, i mean 'topup' is to pay for the changing of at/cvt oil at TCM, i am not sure about topping up foc for oil.
the changing of gear oil is to take care of our gearbox.
i changed front brake pad and rear shoes during NPMP at 40k servicing.
recently at 90k, i changed front brake pad, mechanic says rear shoes still okay.(outside workshop)
as for tyres, you can change outside if you like, some of the commercial sponsors price quite competitive.

good info. thanks.
AT oil is the CVT oil u mentioned? that's meant for Gear oil right?
rear shoes? how come TCM never mentioned before? or i didnt' notice they did change for me or they are using different naming for the items, need to check.
yours is 90k now? how many years u use ur car as of now?
regards
-
if your latio is AT, then At oil lor, if CVT is CVT oil.
my latio just past 5 years birthday last month

Oh.
5 years 90km? Heavy oh!
Mine 4years 2 mths, 113k now! How!!?
High usage
-
Ur usage is about 18k per year.
Mine is about 28k per year.
U do sales?
-
nope, i travel less than 20k per year, that is consider lesser than average liao.

ic.
like that consider average liao ah?
so my usage leh? consider high?
4years 2 mths, mileage 113k km leh, my agent said is very high. even if wanna to sell, the car dealers also dont want to quote a price because they are worrying that after they "eat" the used car and they have to HUG it for a long time & cannot sell it off asap! he said usually a used car buyers r worry abt d wear & tear mah depends / see the mileage.
what kind of logic leh?
he said a 60k to 80k km mileage usage kind of car, car dealers can easily quote about S$40k oh... 4yrs ago, we bought the car at S$50k+ (including COE).... now a new Latio cost almost S$100k (include COE).
2nd car value (if we want to sell), it's abt S$40k (if the mileage is abt 60k to 80k oh? ) how to calculate, am blur, so that's y i asked the agent but i gotten that kind of "mileage" & "car dealers dun quote a price" concerns... haha...! LUAN!!!!!
-
They talk so much about wear and tear and no price quote. If u say sell them at 25K now, immediately they took it and sell to other for $35K

u r damn right!!!
ya, if i sell to them at 40k, they r talking this n that...
if sell to them at 25k, they surely nothing to say, will just take it immediately.
terrible leh...
can we sell car without thru dealer?
-
the agent told me dun go to TCM for servicing.
and said, must chg Auto Transmission Oil in every 40k km leh.. but my TCM record shown that TCM only drained and renew transmission oil. he told me must inform the workshop guy to prepare for "original nission AT / cvt oil" in advance becoz they must buy from Nissan. must use Original ATOil
TCM record show this : 55407 km
**CARRY OUT 60,000KM SERVICE (UNDER NPMP PROGRAM) USE 100% FASFLO SYNTHETIC OIL
DRAIN AND RENEW TRANSMISSION OIL (INCLUSIVE IN SERVICE PACKAGE)

don't worry, TCM is using original CVT/AT oil, cause if they don't, i also really don't know what to say.
fastflo synthetic oil is the engine oil, not CVT/AT oil.
drain and renew transmission oil is the same as change transmission oil, unless you are taking about flushing of transmission oil which are of course more costly.

Yes. You can sell thru Sgcarmart. When you roughly knows the price of the car ard the same time period as yours, that will give you a rough estimate of how much you can sell w/o a dealer. Since you have been doing your servicing @ TCM, you can produce the service records to the potential buyer to show that your car has been serviced regularly and isn't a lemon.
I'm not sure exactly why your agent tells you not to service yr car at TCM. There are pros and cons of it. Cons is that TCM charges are higher than outside workshops. Pros is that you have a clear service record, and its traceable. This makes it hard for the dealers to tamper your car's mileage and then sell it.

So oil filter plus labour. How long it takes ? Mine sent in around 1130 hrs, collect at 1620hrs, minus off 1 hour for their lunch time, it took them 4 hours to service my car. :crying:

transmission oil can use the transmission oil dipstick pull out
and drip on white paper as adviced on service manual,
if still clear red in color no need to change.. if black got
residues den need to change.

can try autosaver or autoaid, both wkshop r quite well-versed in latio

That time i went to TCM and did my 40K major servicing... Told the guy said i wanted to change my CVT oil but he said the oil change at 100K... Is it true? I find it too far and 100K is like another 2-3 years for me to reach the mileage.
Now i have slightly less than a year(exp. Nov 2012) more for warranty. But i feel like going to other workshops to service my car cause TCM is damn expensive. Plus if i go do outside, will it void my warranty? :crycry:

It is true that TCM change the CVT oil change interval from 60K to 100K km. But u can do the CVT oil change outside at your own preferred interval on top of the servicing at TCM. I did it at 40K interval cos i wanna take good care of the expensive CVT. Actually felt the transmission smoother immediately after the change. For a gauge, the price to change CVT oil outside should be around $120. But it is very important to use the correct CVT oil specifically for latio.
-
Thanks Enzoni... I gues i'll just do it as soon as possible. I saw autosaver recommended by other forumers. Do they have the CVT oil in stock or do i have to get it myself?
-
I did it at autoaid, somehow i feel more comfortable there. They got ready stock.
Autosaver very 'franchised', if you call different outlets to enquire you may get different price quote for certain items. I ever did one servicing with them (defu lane main branch) and it was done by PRC... I got A1 in 'O' lvl chinese but somehow i still got problem communicating with them, kept giving my blank look when i asked them things...
Just my experience.
-
Getting A1 in Chinese does not means ablility to communicate well. Most Singaporean have this mentality till they stay in different parts of China full time, them they will understand why most Chinese will stare at them blankly.

I wasn't talking about the language thing, i have not problem describing what i mean in chinese. It is the car knowledge thing i am referring to. General car stuffs that i expect a local mechanic to know. I was in a way testing them and they failed badly, lost my confidence in letting them handle my car immediately. Maybe they were new, i was not sure. That was few years back, no idea how is the situation there now though.
-
chill guys... PRC have different dialects in their language. The way they articulate the Mandarin language is also different depending which part of china the ycome from. My colleagues are MOSTLY PRCs. I asked them about this matter and this is how i understand it.
Anyway, i'll take a look at autoaid but still i dunno if i need to purchase my own Nissan cvt oil. Please advise.
P.S On the 1st instance if the service is bad, most probably i won't come the 2nd time.

Hi dear bro & sis may I know where to get the AT oil & what brand is it, I m staying @ the west & how much is it? Pls help to advise! :D
