Been a happy owner of Latio sports(hatchback) for the past 7 years. The car has not been giving any big problem, just some wear and tear repair.
Now itchy start looking for new cars but realize all the good things I like in Latio hatchback is hardly available any other models. The spacious leg room both front and back legroom(especially the rear legroom where my 8 year old can still sit in btw the gap to play, the big boot, the keyless start, the foldable and also sliding rear seat, the reletively flat floor, etc. the spaciousness of Latio which I took for granted for years now cannot be found in vw golf, Audi a3, bmw1, although these are more latest model with even longer body.
So which next car can provide similar features as Latio hatchback? I love hatchback and still prefer it if possible.
Sadly there is no Latio sport replacement model from nassian itself.

Most Conti cars are never meant to be comfort and family orientated unless those bigger and luxury model. Audi A4 is already cramp behind let alone A3, you need to get a A6 for the comfort and space. You may want to indicate a estimate budget for members easier to advise.

Budget I set is about the price of bmw1 or Audi a3, I.e. About 150,000 in today's Coe price. It is unrealistic to find a latio replacement with that level of spaciousness? Engine power and other luxury is secondary to me.
-
Not sure are you asking yourself a question ? When we ask for budget, you indicated 1 series and A3, so believe these 2 are your option. Nevertheless, if brand and space is your concern, then MB B class fit your criteria and budget as well.
-
Jetta might be a good choice..again depend would you prefer first or 2nd hand
-
Jetta is a nice car, but the 7 speed DSG gearbox is a headache.
-
Keep ur latio for another 3 yrs more if by then still cant decide on which car to change, buy another 10 yrs coe for ur latio ;D
-
Latio Sports (hatchback) owner here as well, 2.5 years left. Really like the alcantara car seats and hope to have them for my next car. But looks like Latio sports is the only economical class car with alcantara seat?
-
me also looking at changing.
already shortlisted citroen grand picasso C4, honda freed and toyota wish, all 2nd hand registered 2010 to 2011.
freed and wish should be quite safe but really boring while grand picasso will be reliability issues.
but now holding back to see coe trend again.
-
If second hand, I will consider Honda Stream and Airwave.

Yup, I liked the seat too, really comfortable. So when I ask any sale guys if they have such seat, all tell me leather is more expensive :nonod: A bit sad that nissan do not have a continuation of this model. There is a similar model called Pulsar in AU market, but TC not going to bring in to sg.
-
i was hoping they bring in the 2014 Latio Sports aka Tiida GTS with 1.6 DIG Turbocharged......
-
My 2008 Latio has been serving me very well for the last 3 years but the CVT box finally gave up on me early this year. I was scouting around for a car and ended with its bigger brother the FL G11 Sylphy registered in Mar 2012.
I needed the rear leg room but the disadvantage was the rear seats cannot be folded back.
And most importantly, I prefer the 4 speed auto, though clunky but still believe to be more lasting than CVT. My personal opinion ::)

The hatchback pulsar was announced in Europe, looks promising, turbo charge and big rear space. but not sure whether tan choong will bring in. I would love it if they do.

They have the new Latio is Japan Market, I think TC is waiting for the latio to get into the Tom Yum manufacture line,
then they import to S'pore.

i think its time nissan starts bringing in turbo version of their b&b cars.
chervrolet cruze already comes with turbo.
and really, once you try turbo cars, its very difficult to go back to NA.
-
I believe the maintenance cost will be higher also... :crycry:
This will end up what you want.....Power or Save $$ :yehyeh:
-
Anyone tested the new Honda City ?

toyota premio

Traded in my loyal latio recently. It really served me well for 7.5 years.
Major problem - aircon, change compressor once under warranty, change cooling coil thrice, once under warranty and twice own pocket.
When I sold it, the aircon was experiencing leaking problem somewhere and I was lucky kelvin and teo helped me to troubleshoot by replacing o ring etc.
Mine is cvt but gearbox is still strong and working well. Steering coupling issues were settled once kelvin replace with the latest model.
Mine november 2006 cvt premium latio sedan was traded in for 25k. And in less than 2 weeks, it was sold ( is the new owner here?).

dsrio wat car u traded for?

My Latio is also more than 6 years now.
Don't know which car to change to as the Latio is too spacious at the back and other car can come close to it.
Sat i almost all cars now & still cannot find any car which comes close to it.
Teana cannot afford.
MERC --> SIAO LORH. Not comfortable mah.
Almera - looks cheap.
The NEW SYLPHY - not so stylish
New COROLLA ALTIS - not spacious at the rear passenger seats.
Headache.
-
The new Nissan Pulsar should be the replacement of Latio, okie....at least Latio Sports. Not sure when Tan Cheong will introduce it.
The current Nissan Note also looks like a successor of Latio Sports. ::)
-
Honda Jazz or Vezel.
-
Nissan 1.2L Qashqai.
-
sylphy turbo...1.6 with 190horses..yummy.. :devil2:

QASHQAI --> aiyo.. SUV hybrid. Buey sai lah. Looks so bulky too.
I saw the Japan Nissan website and it seems that they have the Latio in a new version. Sexy and classy too.
This is the link:_

Not sure if this model will be coming to Singapore or not? Looks a lot like the Almera too & only so far, in 1.2 litres.
Have been checking a lot of cars recently as my car is already more than 7 years now and now it seems that only the Honda Freed meets what I need as a replacement in the Latio.
Aiyo so hard to choose a replacement car for the Latio.
-
I changed from Latio 4AT to Sylphy 1.6A Premium.
Still have the spacious cabin and good fuel efficiency of 15km/l. CVT driving is quite smooth till you thought it has less power as compared to 4AT, but I believe CVT is better.
So far no complain for this car. Only thing to watch out is the tyres given (Bridgestone Ecopia EP150) is quite noisy during rainy days. May need to change and I also did sound proofing on the 4 doors.

:crying: I think all Latio facing the same problem....what next....??
Think of Honda HRV/Vezel
Any one put a hand on it?
Any command?
-
I got the Qashqai 1.2T :) 20K Km liao.. everything  except for the CVT that tries to mimic a conventional GB.

Wats è fc for Qq 1.2 like?

How about Nissan Note, was introduced last year and I did not see a lot on Singapore roads.
-
Me too.. My Latio left exactly 2 eyars to go now. Aiyo.. big headache lorh.
Thinking of the COE to drop so can consider to go for the Toyota Wish or the Sienta. No other car can come close to Latio.
The Japanese version of the Latio which I have seen in Japan, is in-between the Sylphy & the Almera too. And has controls on the steering wheel.
Plus teh spacing is the same as that of my Latio too. Really wish that TCM will bring in this model. Also, considering of a parallel import myself directly of thsi model but the gahmen will definitely f**K my kah chng too if I do this.
Some more, no other parallel importer is bringing in this model too. :crycry:
So looks like left with the Toyota Wish or the Toyota Sienta only.
-
Nissan pulsar coming soon.
-
PULSA
-
Finally made the decision to trade my 9.95yr old Latio for the new Sylphy... :(. Sad to let go of my baby that has served me well for the life of its COE. Saw the new Pulsar but unfortunately does not come with a light colour interior.
