I got mine from SE....there is a slight problem...everytime i reverse the gear...i get two continuous "beeping" sound, one from the car reverse mode, another from the reverse sensor...do everyone here has this same "sense-surround-sound" experience also?

I don't think this has got to do with the alarm.  I learnt to filter off the reverse mode beep mentally, so not mush a problem for me.

Features of TCM Alarm system
1) Car Search & Panic Activation;
2) Lock and Unlock Function;
3) Use Original I-key as Remote Control;
4) Rear Boot Lock Security Function;
5) Car Horn Function as Alarm ;

Yes, it can autolock when u start engine and auto unlock when you off engine, no need to lock/unlock  the door manaully
When u go to the service center, just ask them and they will tell you

Cheers

Does this Car Alarm have Anti-Thief function, since it's called car alarm?

I only knew that Latio doesn't come with a loud alarm to help locate car when I collect my car.

My SE told me that car alarm is not necessary because our Latio has immobilizer.

But now, I often have problem to find my car especially in big car parks. So, I'll install it in next service.

Latio alarm-$156  come with car search function!!!. Press the I-key lock button twice wll trigger the search function. If someone unlock the door without I-Key, will activate the alarm as well. It uses car horn function as alarm. VERY VERY LOUD.....   :blink:

Hi lsls, Thank you very much for the info!

leclub, wow, you have many i-Keys? I guess just one i-key is enough. They should be able to just mod at the receiver side, no need to config i-Key.

You don't have to bring the spare key along. There is no programming needed. The alarm works only with I-Key not the spare key given to you when you collect your car. The alarm is a addon to the existing system.

Save me the trouble... (i got 2 i-keys, one for myself and the other for OC, however OC doesn't seem to carry it nowadays  :D)

4) Rear Boot Lock Security Function  :confused1:

Our Latio doesn't have a rear boot lever in the driver seat like other cars  :ohmy:

Just installed car alarm at TC Lok Yang this morning Took 3 hours. After that, as pre-arranged with bro Vypez some days back, I quickly went down to his shop to seek help to turn off the car horn for lock/unlock as I am flying overseas tomorrow. No choice as my non-stock car horn is quite "loud"  ::)

Met a few Latio bros there and have a good time chatting away while bro Vypez and Fred were busy sweating with the few assignments on hand with the cars. It is like a mini Latio meetup :D

Anyway, thanks to bro Vypez and Fred for helping me to turn off the car horn for lock/unlock with the car alarm horning still intact. And also fixing the right side mirror auto tilting which was actually spoilt by TC technician on doing the car alarm. Great service! Thanks! :thumbsup:

when i dont, it doesn't light up. pretty neat device and it helps too. maybe you can consider this too.

hi vypez,

i am thinking of installing this also...
but on 2nd thoughts, i am thinking will this help?  :confused1:
because the fact that you forget to lock will also means u forget to check whether it is locked, in other words, you will might not check if the LED lights or not. :crying:

having said that, if you remember to check if the LED lights or not,
then you will remember to check if u lock ur door by just trying to open the door to check, or if u are distance away from the car, can just press the remote to lock again to make sure.

i think best will be auto-lock the door after say abt 30sec you off engine and close all door and key is not inside the car.
got such device?  :confused1:

Bro, imagine your ikey battery's flat or you use standby key (not RF one) and it's left inside the car. And you off engine, close the door and go out of the car and talk to some one just for 30s, then you kena liao.
although it's rare but there's still a potential danger here. I heard from my friend that this thing really ever happened on some old car.

Is the TCM alarm integrated into our iKey? Meaning they'll install the additional button in our iKey for search mode?

So we can disable the alarm locking/un-locking sound but still keep the search mode sound?

How's the range of the alarm like? as short as our iKey detection range ?

TC actually outsources the fixing of car alarm to 3rd party. The car alarm they used is Wheels. This is what I was told when I asked about the alarm at Toa Payoh Service Centre. Paying $156 for Wheels alarm I feel that it is not worth. Just my 2 cents.

No additional button. To activate search, press lock button on ikey twice quickly.

Can switch between horn and original beep when locking/unlocking. Horn will still go off when in search mode or alarm triggered.

Range is same as when using ikey as remote.

No additional remote. All functions using original ikey. I installed mine at Lok Yang about a month back

The additional remote one is older model or crimestopper OEM model.

i am thinking of installing this also...
but on 2nd thoughts, i am thinking will this help?  :confused1:
because the fact that you forget to lock will also means u forget to check whether it is locked, in other words, you will might not check if the LED lights or not. :crying:

having said that, if you remember to check if the LED lights or not,
then you will remember to check if u lock ur door by just trying to open the door to check, or if u are distance away from the car, can just press the remote to lock again to make sure.

i think best will be auto-lock the door after say abt 30sec you off engine and close all door and key is not inside the car.
got such device?  :confused1:

I self installed a crimestopper CS2002 in my jeep before and it has that function. It self locks the car after ignition is turned off and door openned and closed after 30sec. Down side is when installed in our cars, you will have another remote. I think it has a OEM trigger input so that it takes arm/disarm signal from our inbuilt system (no need for separate remote) but I am not too sure.

No additional remote. All functions using original ikey. I installed mine at Lok Yang about a month back

The additional remote one is older model or crimestopper OEM model.

Hi, just to check.

If I am walking back to the car, means I have to press the Ikey button to disable the alarm right? Means I will lose the convenience that Ikey gives me (No need to press button to unlock door).

Thanks

To activate panic (or search) mode, just press the lock button on the ikey twice. 8)

I was told by my SE that the alarm option comes with 2 Ikeys (modified to have 3rd button).

Anyone has that here?
