its quite normal when the engine is at low rev. perhaps one day should sit in others' cars and see if the vibrations are significantly different.

another thing u can do when ur at stops is to put the neutral. rpm increases slightly, and the vibrations stop

hi!

previously i do encounter vibration as well. when i did my servicing, i told them the problem and they retune the engine for me. then problem solve. just notice that if ur rpm drop to somewhere 700, car will start vibrating.

I think that should be our latio's struture resonance frequency. Every structure has it's own resonance freq, and just happen our latio could be near idling rpm.

Hi gracieg, my idling is about 800, no vibration at all.

Think you no need to wait until 15k , just call them can already. Then think can stright away drive in .

Think is because at 10K servicing he still use back minerial oil. So must go back for servicing on 15K.  :yehyeh:

TB MAP sensor? simi lai eh? mine also vibrate at traffic lights.

throttle body manifold absolute pressure sensor.. usually near firewall area with a vacuum line running to Throttle body injection.
i am not too sure which is the issue too, but for my case my previous car also had similar problems so i traced a few possible causes in the end is the Idle Air Control Valve that went kaput. Primary use to permit additional air to enter the TBI on cold start up, A/C compressor engagement, and for some cars i think high power steering loads. This effectively increases the idle speed and prevents the engine from stalling..

best is to clean up all the damn sensors that have relation to TBI

Normal if we sevice free using their mineral oil, we need to go back service at 15K right ? So if we bring in our own synthetic oil, izzit we will go back on 20K service ?

read somewhere in MCF that car vibrates due to low rpm can be caused by battery/alternator problem.

I also experience the vibrating when waiting at traffic lights. But very seldom happens. Only sometimes.

for those wRX with loud idling note means that they had replaced with an unequal length extractor + (maybe) a cat back muffler.
Stock will never give that note.

Boxer engines not just confined to Subarus.
Some Posh and the older Alfa are on the same design.
Even the stock low growl is sweet.
i missed it.

mmm..

just the extractor does give that sound, but its not pronounced.

works best with up,down, mid 3" pipes.

of course, having a unsilenced fujitsubo doesn't hurt.

in technical point of view
it could be due to a lot of thing
it might be the petrol quality, might be your air filter dirty...
the above might cause your car to go siao siao.

anyone can share

I just went back to TCM Ubi just now...requested for them to retune idling rpm to 800. Went on a test drive jus now felt ok no vibration nothing liao... I guess should be ok ba....750rpm and 800 rpm no much diff. On the highway, cruising at 80km/h at 1600 rpm. =)

Anyway i chatted with the technician just now and he told me that the ECU will readjust back one as in even though we increase the idling rpm by 50 or 100. Eventually it will readjust by itself after a few days. He did mention that it is normal for the idling rpm to drop once the aircon compressor is cut off.

idling rpm low is good...esp if u always in a jam or travel often during rush hour ( like me )...downside , the car will 'shiver'.

Turn off the A/C and shift to N. Guaranteed 700rpm and smooth idling. I think that's what the ECU was designed to do.

I solved my ride 'shivering' effect....simple

Volt stab....don't ask me why...when i put back my volt stab today, I didn't get that 'shiver' feeling while out driving.

Open your bonnet when your rpm is at 600, you can see your whole engines is vibrating and any parts linking back to your body which caused this vibration.

So far my car was the air intake compartment that cause the problem, after tcm placed "cushioning", no vibration.

It linked back to your petrol used.  95 and 98 will make the difference.  Good tuning can also solve the vibration even if you use 92 and 95.  Sensitive drivers will feel the different petrol use and you step on your accerator.

Nope, your VS is actually a drug, once you decided to quit, but will power is not there that is why shivers, now your car is deeply addicted.  :D
