Title: Steering Coupling
Post by: pest11 on May 15, 2008, 10:43:00 PM
Hi guys,

Understand that our ride has a common known problem - steering coupling; turn-full either side leaving u a tok-tok sound.

I manage to get it replace in Jun'07, soon after the problem re-occur again and had it replaced in Dec'07. And now it's back again !!! All replacement FOC under warranty period.

SE informed replaced steering coupling will have a one-year warranty, but problem is;
1.  for above scenario .... cannot even tahan 6mths !!
2.  after 3yr/100Km car warranty period over, means own pocket-money to had it replace ?
3.  TCM cant rectify the problem, mentioned not life-endanger issue so just had it replaced

sian leh .......

just to check, recently my steering coupling when turning, sometimes got the feeling of kok or tok, dont tink can hear. will driving be dangerous? or its just a tok kok, will not affect driving. I dont really mind this, but worries me if it would cause a problem in the long run

I am changing mine this Thursday. Didn't know the problem is so common and will recur too. What is the point to change if Nissan don't improve on the quality? Problem will still come back!

I got my rear brake problem immediate after servicing. The brake drum "warp"after grease touched the surface.Need machining to remove the grease. Did anyone face the same problem?

hi ....

i had the steering coupling replaced twice at Lok Yang .... it will be too problem for me to go there again cos everytime need to go twice; 1st trip to get the SE acknowledgement on this issue and to place order ...... then 2nd trip for actual replacement which takes at least 2hrs

Anyway, does TP, BT, Ubi offer this replacement service too ?

tkx !!
