Title: water in fuel tank

dear all,

What things can be done if water got into fuel tank? Where to fix the problem? Any recommendation? Please advice.... Thanks

Hi,

Not sure this make sense, water will evaporate by itself. Maybe, you can idle your car a couple of days and try starting your car. Or you can call TCM to check.

Some petrol addictives can evaporate the water.  But that depends on the amount of water in your tank

petrol is less dense than water right? if water went in, will it sink to the bottom? if it does, then will water have the chance to evaporate since the petrol is floating on top of the water?

Think you've got to send the car to have your fuel tank flushed. How did it get there in the first place?

my guess: pumping petrol, spilled some, quickly take the water dispenser and pour off the petrol but forgot to cap back?

my guess: Mistook a water hose for a pump and stick it into the inlet.. den someone turn it on  :thumbsup:

hi guys.

Situation was like wat Carmodz says. Damn tired after work. Still got to pump petrol. So i eas in a semi conscious state. haiz... long story. was my ******** mistake. so nw muz clear up the mess. was afriad that my tank will rust, fuel hose stuck, engine piang! etc..... muz get it done fast. gotta waste 1 full tank of petrol!! bros pls help.....

Carmodz, this really snd good, make sense coz i felt that before! but i didnt pour the water without cap open! Heng ah

Call TCM for help? Better solution right?

If you need to pump petrol, you got to drive your car to the nearest station? By the time, any side effect for the fuel consumption during the journey? ??

I do not think our tank will rust so easily, there a coating I believe.  :smile:
