Hi all,
Need advice, my front windscreen suddenly crack while driving. might be kana stone while driving.
Where can I get it replace and cost? Can share your expereince if any?
Should I claim insurance? but my exceess is high ard 2.5k so do think it might be worth
Hope to heard from all. Many Thanks

1. check your insurance policy - usually a provision for windscreen replacement - excess not coming into play
2. I would rather go to TCM
hope this helps .....

for excess there is actually 2 portions: 1 is for OD accident repair the other is windscreen claim
for AIG its $100 but that does not cover solar film or anti-glare decal...
-
pizzaboy is correct
is the crack growing
anycase - safety first
money can earn one
-
Thank Pizzaboy and Silver for the information.
Call AIG to report this crack this morning(since now need to report any "accident" with 24hrs but for my case consider act of god, since dont where the sand or stone come from) was told the same information. I only need to pay $100 + 7% GST for the Excess and that exclude the solar film which i need to pay additonal.
Really unlucky for the incident. Was worry whether to pay myself to replace or claim insurance due to my high excess.

if the crack is not big ..instead of replacing the whole windscreen u can try to repair it. Check out this website:
http://eglass.bravehost.com
My windscreen kena hit by a stone earlier this year leaving a crack the size of a 10 cent coin...i tried the repair and it is hardly visible now...so far so good...
The good thing about repair as compared to replacing the whole windscreen is that its cheaper... u dun need to pay for the solar film again and the downtime is less..(around half an hour only)..
can consider replacing the whole thing when u have more cracks..nowadays its quite common due to all the construction going on..so much stones and pebbles on the road..

Hi Raymond,
Similar situation happened to my windscreen last July too. Parked beside netball court in school, kana small cracked on windscreen abt size of 50cent coin. Initially thought its nothing but once travelling along expressway for 90km/h+ can literally see the crack 'growing' and hear soft cracking sound.
Kan cheong, so I sent mine to a workshop@eunos that deals with AIG, paid $100 + 7%GST excess. Won't affect our NCD, but paid additional for my V-Cool cos cant claim :nonod:
Anyway, better safe than sorry u should replace your windscreen. ;)

Our windscreen so fragile?

I also kena before, can literally see the crack growing one. The crack is really distracting when driving as it feels like a real danger, always thought what would happened if heavy downpour at that time....

My front windscreen was hit today! Its like a 'bull eyes crack'.
Very loud sound when the stone hit my screen, and then i saw the crack!
Should i get it replaced?
Has anyone tried "glass repair" instead of replacement?
New insurance rule..., can i claim from my insurance and will it affect my NCD?

should get it replace a.s.a.p if not the crack will better larger n larger.
glass repair is only for small hair line crack.
normally replace front windscreen will not affect ur ncd, just need to top up $107 or depend on ur insur to replace ur windscreen.

how much did you pay for the solar film replacement?
Some insurance companies eg. AG, HSBC can cover solar film for additional premium of abt $30/yr (claim up to $1200)
How I know? I oso kena same situation and after asking, they say can insured for solar film
Try asking the insurance companies

Under NTUC insuarance, $0 windscreen access, but have to go specific workshop. You can insure your solar film as accessories when signing the insurance then they pay your solar film too.
Our front winscreen is 3 layer glass, will crack but not so easy to fall apart. There are two type of front windscreen, one clear and another with solar screen on top. Yes, TCM UBI will have the most stock.

Changed mine recently last yr at TC Ubi, to the original sunshade type. Was hassling with NTUC as other authorised workshop does not hv this type of windscreen, and at last they allowed me to change at TC Ubi.

yeah, I think you done it first then I use you as reference and ask them to replace me with sunshade type. Also ding dong for few week before I got them to do it. They always say clear type same price as shaded type and they only have clear type instock. I say it is just cutting cost
