Title: My car kena paint from workers painting block!
Post by: thesurferguy on June 28, 2008, 01:10:05 PM
Sigh, this morning, i was awaken from sleep (just come back from night shift) by my sis, that my car kena droplets of paint due to the negligence of the painters for not covering up the car when they're doing the painting...

The reason the worker in-charge said is because they were painting the side of the block and ASSUMING that it won't splatter.

Not only my car, but my neighbour's Nissan Latio (red) also kena. His is worse bcoz his car more nearer to the area where they paint.

The white paint are like stars on my sapphire black latio. Affected parts are the front and the right side... From far cannot see, but visibly clear if you are very near.

Wanna make noise also no use, wanna whack the fella up also no use, bcoz it has already happen. Sianz.

KPKB to the person in charge, and he scold his man for their negligience.

They are arranging for a polish company to come down tmr morning and polish.

Questions:

1) Can this splatter of paint droplets be removed with normal polishing like those provided by fellow bros' car grooming service? (e.g. Perfectionism, Gloshine, or even latioboy91  :bleh:)

2) Should I go and wash at petrol kiosk since they use jet spray bcoz some of the droplets can be removed if wiped with a slight pressure?

3) Or just let them polish tmr and see the results, if not ask them to pay for the damages.

4) How much is the cost to repaint if suay suay need to repaint?

Sorry for the questions asked, heart pain liao since car only 4months++ old.

I will post pics so that have a better view.

Any advise or experience to share, pls enlighten me. Thank you so much.

They polish for you nice2 or u go some workshop for professional removal of the paint and then claim from them?

Bro,

If it is the exterior wall block paints, it is a waterbased paints, so can be removed easily by your polisher. Actually if u wipe immediately with a wet cloth, it shoud b able to be removed. The longer u wait, more permanent the paints stick onto ur car paint, so don delay.. :)

Bro, sorry to hear abt it. Guess your car abt 4mths new, should be quite easy to wipe off the paint with wet cloth or DIY wax. Try not to park outdoors under hot sun in case it gets worsen. Best is to go for the grooming asap. Keep us updated yr? Gd luck!

Good news to all! Just got back witnessing them grooming my car.

This morning at 9am, the polisher start doing my neighbour's car first (the worst one).

They started removing the paint splatters using a clear liquid (i dunno wat is it-I asked but the Myanmar guy mentioned "taiping" orsomething like that...) the paint did come off very easily becoz the paint are not oil-based. Then they buff the whole car with "Formula 1" wax

Then another resident who happen to park beside my neighbour's car also complain about his car got paint splatters, so they did his car (not so bad; just the bonnet area). He request to do his second bcoz he need to go work in the afternoon.

They did mine last and its good to be last bcoz they even wash the whole car after the whole detailing session! (They didn't wash the previous 2 cars bcoz they need to go somewhere...)

All is good and my baby Latio is back to normal. Phew!  :yehyeh:

Whole process took 2 hrs with 2 workers doing my car at the same time.

The paint splatters

talking abt painting...

my parents' house in msia. recently engaged a guy to do the house (external) painting.

before painting, they got to remove the dusts and all the existing paint, guess what, that guy never ask my mum to move away all the cloths (under the sun lah!) before he started removing the paint.... all the cloths & motorbikes, all kena dusts like hell ! (heng is not the "wet paint" like wat u all mentioned in this thread 'My car kena paint from workers painting block!'!!!, otherwise, really scold until bo lat!!!

Dusts still can wash away bro, but if paint if kena on ur clothes and bike, sure jialat. Furthermore those cannot remove one and u'll have to throw away ur clothes. Luckily for me, those HDB paint are easy to remove one... Got free polishing some more even though my car still considered new.  :w00t:
