Title: Any Difference? - 95 & 98 RON
Post by: clarence on July 04, 2008, 11:43:15 AM
Technically, Latio can safely accept 95 RON, but I felt my Latio was smoother running on 98 RON.

Wonder if this is psychological or does 98 RON really make our Latio's engine smoother?

actually, for the HR15DE engine, petrol with minimum 91 RON is specified (see the manual)

Very obvious.

One of the big differences is

the Price.

HR15DE engine refers to 4A/T or CVT?

both Standard (4A/T) and Premium (Extronic CVT) models use the same engine, HR15DE
just that the transmission is different

Definitely there a difference, but it difficult to measure.

Actually don't have to measure just a little maths. 98-85=3, even my kid knows that.

hey hey now it doesn't have to turn into a flame war does it? benefits none of us

price aside...

i do feel the difference between petrol grades. the 98 fuel makes the car quieter.

98 gives more power definitely, fc wise i not too sure cos i only pump 98 abt 3 times only.

in the end i go with 95 as my route is 80% city driving. During jams - higher power = faster acceleration = harder braking, not very comfortable, prefer to go slower.. :nonod:

Been using V-Power & 98 for my prev sunny ride...definitely smoother ride for V-Power compared to 95. But current Latio been using 95 due to high price, but ride still smooth & comfy, guess its our quiet engine & new car still...Sometimes when I travel to JB will pump V-Power once awhile to improve ride.... :bleh:
