hey all bros and sis,
can anyone advise on the above problem? could it be that the brake pads are worn out? also, the shake is more violent when i'm in D than in R. so could it be that my front wheels are misaligned? thanks very much in advance!
-
check rim nuts tightened in properly,
check wheel hub bearing,
check rotors, check brake pads.
check balancing.
cheers.
-
rotor warped would be my guess

eh...can advise how to check them DIY?

so how much would i need to rectify the problem? the car still safe to drive or not ah?
-
when the wheel alignment is out will cause the steering wheel to vibrate when braking...as for your car shakes, it depends on the degree of shaking...it could also mean that the engine chasis is lose...............or i could be simply spoutting nonsense here.... :w00t:

how much i wont know. you can either:
1. change the rotor
2. send the rotor for skimming
But like i said, its only my guess, because usually when the car vibrates only when u brake, then chances are high is a warped brake rotor.

1. check rim nuts tightened in properly: Only way is by using a torque wrench.
2. check wheel hub bearing: Unlikey because that one when driving will also have problems and usually will give off a humming sound.
3. check rotors, check brake pads: Don't think you can or want to check these yourself. But warped rotor can be caused by 1.
4. check balancing: This one most likely not also because affect you most when you are at speed.
How old is your ride? Tire rotated or changed recently?
If under warranty, bring back to TC.

actually mine also....when stopped...I can feel the car vibrate...howcome so many prob all coming one...only 2 weeks leh

Car vibrating when stopped is not uncommon. Mine does that a bit too. It is because of the low idling rpm. Put to neutral and its gone right?

my car is slightly more than a year old. so the rotor and stuff still under warranty?

brought my car to TC toa payoh to check on sat. after about one and a half hour they called me to say the car is ready and everything is working well when they do the tests. so i went to collect my car and indeed everything is back to normal. but i highly doubt that my car has nothing wrong when i sent it in, just feel that they are hiding some problems from me leh.

As long problem solved.

haha yah. i still have 2 years to make noise if any problem surface again anyway.

Can the shake be due to the activation of the ABS? Is the shake felt only during hard braking?
-
I sent mine to Ubi...they say idling RPM too high...so tune for me...now slightly better. I asked anything wrong with Rotor...they say no..cos if got, when driving, the car will vibrate too..well, I just accept it
-
After reading the post, i personally think that its the uneveness of the rotor (Brake Disc) But we, Bilancia Intl Pte Ltd can actuaclly resolve this concern. No resolve, no nid pay.

i did experianced it once.., be it normal braking or hard braking. can feel it on the steering.. but after i changed my brakes problem resolve... ;D

When car is in motion, there is no contact with the brake rotor, and the vibration felt when you brake could be due to the uneven brake rotor which causes the vibration when the brake pads are in contact with it.
I am truely disapointed with Tan Chong's assessment.
Bilancia is correct in his diagnosis.

i experience the shake when i brake - slow brake some more...
this sat i going in for my 5k servicing.. will ask them to check

Do you have facts and data to support your statement ? If the rotor is uneven or warp, what makes you think no contact with the brakes pad thus create vibration ? ::)

Go and analyse more before red bold. Do you own a car and see what is the gap between the rotor and the brake pad ? If the rotor is wrap and expand after heated up, why it won't touch the brake pad ? And vibration may also due to bearing wear off too.
And based on what ground do you condemn Nissan car and their service? And what did Bilancia gave you the info that his "diagnosis" is correct?
