A change of the stock air filter is purported to do wonders for our Latio; for exmaple-
1) Increased Horsepower
2) Improved petrol mileage
3) Removes the need to change new stock air filters during servicing
Some might say the above is true, some will say it's all hocus pocus.
Therefore the need for this poll; to set things straight - Which is better? stock filters or performance filters?

sorry to dig up this thread.
i had done an experiment to drive my car without any filter, and DID NOT experience noticable different in terms of power compared to the stock filter. one reason might be i had my AFR tuned which i don't know how much it affects this experiment. Therefore for my ride, i'll stick with the nissan's stock filter. i believe aftermarket filter which suppose to allow more air in will not work on my car and it'll protect my oxygen sensor most effectively.

Stock filter all the way. But I get it from outside (@$15) as TCM and AS charges are incredibly high.

i m on Simota SS filter and i think e car feel really lighten in term when u accelerate and better t drive. upslope dun seem to have the drag feeling like thta i feel on stock filter.
