Donno why.
May be is the tyre pressures?

Hi vypez,
Oh, i have not gone for servicing yet.
I went HK last wk, the car wasn't move for abt 6 days. the tyre pressures went hilang is it possibly coz of this?
-
Could be due to low tyre pressure or flat spot on tyres, whcih also means your tyres need to be replaced.
Flat spot occurs when a car's tyre is rested on the same spot for a prolonged period.

lunch time go pump "hong" lor.

Since your car is still under warranty, better to send back to Tan Chong to check.
I cannot confirm the actual problem unless I test drive your car.
You can also run your hands round your tyres and feel for any flat spot.
If you got YOM2007 Latio, bear in mind that the tyre had been resting on the same spot in the warehouse for a year.

Hi clarence,
How does it feel (for the flat spot)?
-
I feel after pump tyres to 230/210, the road noise increases. It will become quiet after a few days of driving. anyone feel the same or it is just me...
-

ic. hahaha, i got it. 扁扁 平平? :)
well, depend on what kind of 'flat' we are talking abt, if tyres aso flat already, that is no good! some other things if too flat, is no good too. i believe u guys will aso agree with me?
pun chek. :D

Hi rongshu
榕树
榕树下? Nice song.
Hi guys,
well, abt the pumping of air to our tyres, i experienced a few times, when i pumped at ESSO Mobil at Clementi, the pump, donno why when i pump it, it's actually the other way round i.e. the air came out from the tyres instead of going into the tyres.... i donno how.... i try to adjust at the air pump the psi by releasing the current setting (or sthing like that, forgot what i did), then i re-pump again, the air then can go into the tyres... Why so?
Thanks.
Regards.

The new electronic pump actually releases air from your tyres if it is overinflated.
Eg. If you set it to 230KPa, it will release some air from your tyres if their pressure is higher than 230KPa.
-
Is it better to pump ur tyre according to spec as 230/210? After my 13.7km/litre feat...i can't seems to achieve it anymore..nowadays between 12.5 to 13.5....then my hubby suggest to go check out the tyre pressure at petrol station. So we set front 230 and rear 210....then was suprise to see tat air was released from rear....wondering if TM messed with the pressure when they do my 1k servicing or not...
:crycry:
-
That means Tan Chong pumped more air into your tyre (above 210KPa).
Nothing wrong with that.
You just get a more bumpy ride.

Hi clarence,
Oh, meaning, when i pump that time, the tyres are having Heat, so it is having higher pressure? So, when i setup to 230 for front tyres, it releases air from my tyres? If so, i cannot pump air in the evening after travelling for 20km then? best time shld be in the morning of evening (a few min after i drive off the car?)

What I did not understand is why they did it? Itcy hand can't be scratched? Please tell me if this is true...if u pump too much air to ur tyre...it actually will be less dragy on roads thus improves FC but more prone to punch-chik....if less air...more grip on the road but consume more petrol...

Yes, you are right! ;D

Correct!
BUT If tyre is underinflated, it will lead to higher petrol consumption.
More grip is applicale only for off road driving where slight under inflation is recommendated.

What abt city driving with some construction at the side some times? Go with wat is recommand in the book? :confused1:
-
Yes.
Plus an extra 10KPa is fine as air will escape from the tyre over time.
-
i always pump 245 front wheels, 235 for rear wheels
i find it not bad

Best is less than 5km of travelling from cold.

They did not mess with your tyre pressure. Did rotation but never check tyre pressure after that.

Refer to the above, under the Heading - Inspection - Exterior...
Check all tyres including spare tyre and presure setting
I thought Tan Chong is supposed to check all tyres' pressure too?
How could they have missed out this important check? :nonod:

Another way is to compensate for the hot air by set the pump pressure a little higher so that you can just pump any time, at your convenience.

Tyre rotation?? But I went in for 1k servicing lei...i tot tyre rotation when mileage hit 10k? :confused1:
