Loud 'tick' sound when turning on air con, and then subside, is this normal? I think that is the compressor sound? The sound should be soft right?

Burnolise, is good to turn off your aircon prior stop your engine, and start your engine b4 turn on your aircon.

Ya, agree. Have been told by my SE the day I collect my ride.
Normally I will on the engine. Wait for 10-15 secs while I wear and on my bluetooth ear piece then on the air-con.

Oh....will try to do tat...usually, i crank the engine, engage to D, release footbrake and drive off....during the time i engage to D, release footbrake and drive off, i turn on blue tooth and wear them.....multi-tasking...i know it can be quite dangerous...but i dun have the patience to sit in the car and wait and do one thing at a time....:bleh: :bleh: :bleh: :bleh: :bleh: but will try to kick the habit....

Actually it is advisable to wait for the "cold engine" blue watermark on your dashboard to go off before you turn on your air con.

An instruction hard to follow when u have a black car and has been baking under the sun for the whole day....:bleh: :bleh: :bleh:

You can always start the engine, wind down all windows (or open all doors) and set the fan blower speed to high on NON AIR CON mode.
Wait for 3 minutes before entering your car so that the hot air escapes before you drive off.

Hi Clarence
I did that for around 2 weeks when I got my ride in May. Gave up after reading somewhere on the internet that it is not necessary for modern gasoline engine.
So now, I will wait for around 10-20 secs if the blue indicator lights up to allow the engine oil to circulate to lubricate the engine.
Rgds
