Title: Trip Computer
Post by: duxton88 on October 02, 2008, 10:43:44 PM
Hi guys,

Just got my Latio sedan recently.  Have been reading the posts here and found them very informative.

I noticed that the Trip computer has a fc reading and an average fc reading also besides the usual A/B reading.

What do these readings refer to?  The units are in l/100km and I'm wondering how to relate to the l/km fc manual calculation.

most discussions on FC centre around the number of kilometres that can be driven using one litre of petrol, ie xx km/litre

since the system is reporting in litres/100 km, eg, AA litres/100 km, divide 100 by this number (AA) to give the result in km/litre

for example :
if the system shows 7 litres/100km, divide 100 by 7 = 14.2 km/litre
and 8 litres/100 km = 12.5 km/litre

enjoy your drive

Thanks for the explanation It makes sense now
I notice the instantaneous fc display reading will jump about as i speed up or slow down.  Guess the best is to try to maintain as low a reading as possible

you are most welcome
keep even pressure on right foot and instantaneous FC reading will not jump about so much
and since you have average FC reading, good to keep an eye on that

FL refers to new facelifted model.

If you got yours in July, it is likely the Year Of Manufacture 2007 stock. The old model.

Yours is old model, so no trip computer.

I just check the fuel consumption manually.  It is pretty close to the average reading from the trip computer.

Manually calculated is 12.4 km/l.  The average reading showed 8 l/100km.
