sometimes when coming out of the car close the door kena static. not only me sometimes my frenz also kena. what can be done to solve the problem.
-
I never ever had this problem with my car, go ask TC to check, any electrical leakage somewhere?
-
This shouldn't happen in Sg as our weather is more humid....it only happens in country where there is winter....can tie something at the back of ur car dragging on the floor as this will be a constant discharge for ur car...if the static is really bad...better go back to TC to check it...

Just curious, are you and your friend prone to kenna "static shock" like myself? At times, i touch metal stuff accidentally like shopping centre railings or CPU boxes, I will kenna shock.

One more thing to add...such pple usually has dry skin and longer body hair...so when they are walking....their body hair has a lot of friction with the surrounding air and with dryer skin...will cause static to generate on them waiting to discharge only...

man, you guys are "Powered" :D
ok, are you wearing clothes that are made from synthetic fibers, such as polyester or nylon and Rubber shoe in aircond environment? These will contribute some static. I had been zap many time before until I developed some habit like push the window glass only to close car door, ...
-
when you are outside the car, hold metal object close to metal part of car to discharge the static electricity
-
haha..i also have this static problem sometimes...my frens always say I "shocked" them
when walking too close to them..so i'm extremely scared when it happen during petrol pumping
as i find it is very dangerous to have static at the petrol station.
so what i do is i keep a bottle of water in my car then wet my palms a little bit b4 i get
out from the car for petrol pumping. My palms can be very dry at times so maybe thats why
got static.
-
will a small bottle of hand lotion better? ... but I dun know if guys like to be seen using lotion in public :zipped:

Pls becareful when you go petrol station to pump petrol then.

You can try to hold a metal part of the car when you alight. This will discharge your static to the car and prevent a "shock" when you alight and then close the door.
I've tried it (when i was studying overseas) and it works.

That is true. As long as you touch any metallic part of your car before pumping, then the static will be discharged.

I also kena zapped once or twice. Wondering if its due to rubbing on the fabric of the seats and on the side of the door? I never encountered this in my previous ride.
