After my 10K servicing last week, the engine oil was changed to flasfo. There was a "Tune Engine" done because I complain hard starting at times.
Well, after I drive, feel the car more smooth and powerful compared to after 5K servicing. Not sure whether will affect FC.
Haha, is it psychological that I think car is more powerful after servicing? Any pple got idea what has been tuned? Check with the SA, he didn't my answer directly.

hmm care to share what were done at ur 10K servicing?
the EO change>> is it FOC? and did ur SA tell you how much to top up if u want to use Shogun or other brand or EO?

Basically is as per the checklist in the maintenance booklet. EO is FOC unless one chooses Shogun. The only thing extra was the engine tuning (not sure whether is it part of the package), any guys' engine was tuned during the 10K servicing?
-
EO is not FOC unless u are on the servicing package...i paid $82 for the Fasflo during my 10k servicing
last mth.
-
For 10,000km servicing, if you wish to "upgrade" to synthetic oil, you need to top up money.
But if mineral oil is used, it's free.

Actually, it depends - if u purchased yr Latio recently, TCM would throw in NPMP free plus 1st 3 service free also. If u are on this package, then 10,000km service is using synthetic oil. If your package only got 1st 3 service free and NO NPMP, then the 10,000km service uses mineral oil. This will be stated in the Service history card that TCM will mail to you abt 2 months after you collect yr new car.
If you have not recieved yr service history card and you're kum cheong, u can simply call up yr SE to ask, or ask the service centre people when u send in yr car for the 1000km or 5000km service.

Yes, I am on NPMP. Anybody has their engine tuned at their 10K servicing?
-
It is the norm to have engine tuned at major 10,000km intervals servicings.
So for 10,000km servicing, your engine should be tuned.

Any idea what parameters/behaviors were tuned?

The ECU (Engine Control Unit) is tuned.
This ECU is like the car's hardware.
Your car should run smoother after tuning.

Yes indeed my car run smoother. But I am still curious to exactly what exactly was tuned. Can't seem to get the SA to tell me.
-
Your car's ECU is like an on board computer that controls the car's electronics.
A hand held computer unit is usually inserted into your cigarette lighter or plug in the engine to tune it.
As to what exactly is tuned, I can't answer that question. Quite technical.

ic ic...but frankly speaking, i dun really feel the drive is smoother after my 10k service..only feel that engine is
more responsive as compared to pre-service.
-
At times when it is a rushed job and tuning is not properly done, optimum benefits may not be reaped.
It also depends on your engine oil used.

basically>> heng sway one ba ?? haha
hmm from experience>> for those on NPMP package, with free Fastflo EO change>> do you tink it is advisable for them to use the Free Fastflo or just pay some $$ and bring in other good EO like Armsoil, Redline, etc?
-
It's really the individual's choice.
-
I actually trying fastflo now due to NPMP, keeping my amsoil for next servicing, still monitoring but it seems like fc not so good, previously can travel till 530km then top up 37-38l, now travel till 500km already topping up 37-38l :(
-
yes..my FC also dropped for the past 2 tanks after using Fasflo syn oil..still monitoring current 3rd tank and see if FC drop
further..*cross my fingers*
-
look like the free EO sux big time.. any bros here manage to get good FC with fastflo?

There is an option for upgrade to shogun EO at 10K servicing at a cost.
Any of you guys have tried ? Appreciate your feedback pls.

I've tried both the fasflo and shogun EO before from TCM and both CMI IMHO... Doesn't do much for the FC... I'm now using Carlube EO from Giant... Cheap and quite good :bleh:

Hey shpesft
Thanks for your feedback. Sorry to probe a bit more, when you say CMI, do you mean in terms of FC, power or smoothness or everything?
Just curious, do you bring your Carlube EO to car workshop to ask them to put in for you?
Tks
Alan

My FC, power worsened when I changed to the Shogun EO. I paid for the NPMP from Nissan but brought my own EO to Nissan for them to change.

Try change on 5k. u feel the diff. BTW, try their 5w30....
-
:yehyeh: :yehyeh: :yehyeh: my FC on 3rd tank after 10K service has rebounced back to 14.5km/l !!
i really hope it will stay on at 14+ and hope to achieve 15 if i let my car roll more often :D

Do you mean change at every 5k even on synthetic oil? If just change EO, how much is the labor? Isn't is a bit waste as EO not cheap and it can last for another 5 k?
-
If you intend to change engine oil every 5000km and use synthetic, you can choose cheap synthetic like Triple R which costs $28.90 for 5 litres.
It's a waste to use expensive synthetic like Mobil 1 costing $110 for 4 litres and change every 5000km.
-
can buy car lube at giant. ard the pricing also
-
any idea which workshop provide resonable rate to change engine oil? Thanks!

I buy carlube 5w30, I go to my usual workshop, he charge me sgd15 each time almost the same price as JB.
-
dun mind sharing where is the workshop and who is the contact person ? Thanks!

Hi clarence
May be not to mention it's a waste to use fully syn EO and chg in every 5000km, may be we shld look into the other face of it, could it help to sayang our Engine in better shape & quality in longer run? Meaning, we will have better n smoother engine & thus better FC (helps to save some) also?
Regards.

Oil filter change every 10k.

I think Jazz is asking if the $15 labour fee charged to change engine oil includes oil filter.
