You must know what to look out for in a crash test.
For frontal crash, the Latio footwell portion did not crumble at all. This implied excellant protection for front occupants. It is ok for the engine bay to crumble away as it absorbs the impact of crash. It will result in very high repair cost, but it did protect the occupants which is most important. All the jap cars are designed this way, with thin sheet metals as outer claddings. Though not all are created equal of course.

hi best_ctzn
good one & good idea.
the passengers in the cars are the most important... engine bay KO is ok if soi soi the crash happen.... (can claim insurance for car damages, but cant claim lifes from the God/King of Hell!)
how abt the 'side' crash test? not too sure can protect or not... dangerous if we think of the side crash... coz if the side doors kena bang harder, the passengers at the back seat might be injured kaulat2 aso...
i can see with the sedan model, is safer becoz the compartment (rear) is bigger, if the backside of the ride is bang by other cars, at least it has more protection, safer... the Latio Sports model, the backside is so much smaller ^$^
regards.

kena bang from behind haf to depend on wat kind of car bang u and wat speed they travelling at to have the impact.
our backside is still quite ok no doubt sedan haf a longer boot is safer, but compare to alot other model hatchback cars latio sport not bad liao
