Hi any bros or sis know how the Trip computer calculates the average fuel
consumption.
Thank you
-
Are you refering to how to intrepret the Trip computer reading?
The average reading provides the fuel consumed per 100km on average.
I'm getting 8.4 now. Converting this to the usual way of stating fc will be 100/8.4 = 11.9 km/l
I have also manually calculated the fc on a few occasions and the manual results are very close to the trip computer results.

Hi duxton88
Merry Xmas to all :D :D
I wish to know how the computer know the amount of fuel used.
Does it take the value every time we top up or what? And what happen when we do a reset?
Maybe I am too fussy ha ha..
Thanks anyway for your post.
Now I get about 7.5l/100km..80% highway.
Cheers

on-board sensors and electronics - measures the amount of fuel injected for the distance travelled and duly report that figure to the meter

Hi westresting
Merry christmas!
I reset the meter after topping up. It matches with the manual fc calculation at the next top up. Don't know how the meter actually calculates but think its pretty trustworthy.

Hi duxton88
Thank you for the info. I did the manual cal. and it is close too.
cheers

There was one episode of Mythbusters where they were trying to find out whether if driving with a/c or windows down is more fuel efficient. They used something that calculates FC, but it gets the reading by measuring the amount of air intake. Not sure if Latio's work the same way.
Btw, windows down is terrible for FC.

Generally speaking, if you drive <70km/h, switching off the AC and winding down windows saves more fuel but if you cruise on a highway >70km/h, switching on AC with windows winded up will save more fuel. This is simply because >70km/h there is more air turbulence with your windows winded down.
My best experience is to drive in less polluted countries like New Zealand and Australia when temperature is moderately cool, no need to wind down windows, no need to switch on AC, just let the outside cool fresh air enter the cabin!

Yeah, normally I don't on AC at all, just leave a little gap in the windows for my side's front and the passenger's rear window.

I find the trip computer works well and helps me to regulate my pressure on the accelarator. Thus I find no need to have the air/fuel ratio gauge.
