Hi, i am currently running on TOYO Stock Tires since day 1 from 2006..... Seems time to change the tyre as i experience some of form of Skids on the back wheels...
Any recommendation or should i just replace my back wheel to the front wheel ? If change, i am not really the SPORTY type.. only looking for quiet and comfort tyre..
-
I haven change mine, but if I am to change, will most probably going for Hankook K415, cheap and good.

Hi! i've been using Michelin Energy XM1 since my previous ride - very comfy and quiet. Another comfy tyre is Michelin Energy MXV8. This is suppose to be Michelin's most quiet and comfy tyre.
However, it costs more than XM1(XM1 195/60R15 is $135 ea at Shell Autoserv) and i personally have not tried it before coz not many shops stock this model. i only recently found out that Autobacs carries this model. Next time i change my tyres i think i'll give MXV8 a try.

Can feel it's more quiet than my stock toyo. Also seems more comfy. (Pressure at 230)
Costs: $88 per pc.

Look for Ah Meng. A very friendly guy.

think all new tyres are quiet. changed form my 185/65/12 V2 to falken 912 205/50/16. tot will be more noisy but surprising more quiet. think my V2s was due for a change already. went more than 40k with them. In fact, if not for noise will not be changing.
Btw, seems lke V2 braking distance shorter compared to 912.

Hmm... sounds illogic if the thread pattern is similar. It could be due to difference in force applied on brake, travelling speed, road conditions, weather condition, brake pads, weight of load in car, etc.

v2 and 912 of vast difference. V2 is directional and 912 is asymmetric. difference in compound used probably the reason.
-
probably so.. no choice. times are bad.. will have to wait till end of yea b4 switching to V8s.

^
Could anyone confirm on the above?
Stock tyre (I think is Toyo?) 185/65R15, I have the intention of changing them to GR80 195/60R15 at a tyre workshop. Recommended to change? Or don't bother and just use the stock tyre since I'm not changing rim size? :nonod:

hi!
today just send my car to TCM BT for some chking. the foreman took my car out for a spin and told me that my tyre handling is very good :devil2:. I was actually complaining to them abt my bad fc and rough engine noise. then i ask him whether is it my tyre road holding power is too good then causing my bad fc. he was smiling and saying mayb abit lor :confused1: hmm...... dunno how true is it. btw, i m using Potenza RE001

U can try Falken ST115, size 195/60R15. I used them on my Latio, the wet and dry grip is good though a bit noisy.
-

I also enquired about the H424 V2 Blackbird 185/65R15 in Toh Guan as a direct replacement for my Stock Toyo Tyres. Slightly above S$100 per tyre.
The thing is, the tire manufacturing date indicated 06/08, which I believe Week 6, 2008 production. Is the tyre too old to use?
My Toyo tyres are reaching 50000km soon. Time to change?

I;m on Federal 595EVO and loving it! $130 a piece for 215/45/R17 its really ecellent value for money. Noise level is good, wet grip has lived up to expectations, hit standing puddles of water did not even aqua plann left or right. definitely the tyres to go for and has a strong following in the states as well. I say if u r looking for performance tyres this is great value.
-
hi mambo,
i m keen on federal 595evo, but worry abt the noise level..is it silent or the noise is juz simply bearable? is it available in 15"?
-
Any bro knows where to get new gr80 tyres? Heard it is no longer in production...

What is the difference btw directional and asymmetric?
Noticed that for every car servicing above 10K at TCM, Rotate and Balance Tyre is "part of the package". If we change tyre outside ourselves, will this service still be included?
Many thanks for your advice in advance =)
