Title: Footrest area gets dirty
Post by: wytan on April 02, 2009, 03:19:08 PM
I noticed the Latio footrest area for your left foot is not the plastic kind unlike most other cars, but the cloth kind that follows the car interior color. The original floor mat doesn't cover the footrest area either.

My question is how to remove all the black stains (my car interior is the beige one) that will appear over time when you rest your left foot on the footrest? Lagi worse if you just step into the car during heavy rain, the bottom of your shoes sure wet one. If I send my car for those regular car interior cleaning, will they be able to remove such stains?

I've resorted to putting a piece of rag at the footrest area for the time being.  :glare:

I bought the 3M customised carmat which covers the footrest area.

if you cannot remove the stain, may just buy the 3M carmat to cover it up.

I think have to be very careful when using 3M car mat because small leaves and sands trapped inside easily and so is food particles. I experienced before, ants all over, to make things worse, the 3M car mat is black colour also. Horrifying experience.  :crying:

Since then, i say good buy to 3M.

Ermm....If i remember correctly, the 3M car matt meant to trap dirt, leaves, etc...else imagine all the dirt, stain, decomposition of leaves stain all over your car flooring....you suppose to take the car mat out at least once a week to clear the dirt trapping inside.....it is like your bed sheet....need some cleaning and clearing you know....all my cars including my dad's car are using 3M and are very happy and satified with it.....

currently using those transparent mat (with raised edges) for driver side. It extends all the way till under the pedals (covering foot rest area). Works well for me. Wet also no issue as raised edged prevents water/dirt from spilling over to original car mat. Can buy from autobacs.

I dunno... but.. how u clear the 3M mat? Take it out and just shake it? I did that and there are still dried leaves and stones still trapped inside. I wonder if there are bread crumbs inside, it can come out...  still remembered the horrifying experience, while driving, the ant bites my right leg, dangerous man!  :crying: anyway good that u r a satisfied customer of 3M

You can clear it by shaking it in a few directions....meaning you hold at one oritentation, shake it, then rotate it and shake it again...repeat untill all oritentation has been covered....besides, I suppose a good practice will be never to eat or drink in your car....I maintain strict discipline in my car....so no pest for me.... :yehyeh: :yehyeh: :yehyeh:
