Title: abnormality of new latio?
Post by: pinspider on April 09, 2009, 11:30:36 PM
Hi Bro and Sis,
I just collected my new latio and i realised that everytime when i start to move off (after it was parked overnight), there is a clicking sound.
after the initial move off, the clicking sound will be gone. It will come back the next morning.

Has anyone experienced this?

thank you for your advice.

My guess is there is water or dirt/mud particles in yr brake assembly. It may not make much sense to you now, but u know everytime i finish washing car, the wheel and all will be wet. When i move off, i also will kanna some sound, after that i start driving no more.

Recently raining right? Monitor a bit, could be dirty or mud particle stuck in the brake/wheel assembly.

thanks!
let me monitor it for a while more.
what i noticed is, the click sound comes when i first try to accelerate every morning.
when it is travelling at slow speed, it is perfectly fine.

maybe it is some central locking mechanism? gear box faulty?

So far didnt have that sound. However was told that our air circulation is never 100% shut, its only 70% cos TCM claim that its a safety feature.
Therfore I wish to understand from the FL bros whether if they can smell external smell intruding into the cabin. I.e. exhaust, garbage truck, etc.

I dun believe leh, if the air is meant to be circulating internally, y should we be able to smell the air/exhaust outside? Our Latio has quite a few functions running digitally, maybe occasionlly it go heywire. Like my aircon, i just reset it not long, now not cold again... duh...

I also experience the same as you and also when moving off during raining days. It is due to the friction between the brake calipers and the rotors. Shouldn't be a problem lah..

They claim to be a safety feature, guess need to write in to nissan and ask.

Eh hi, are u refering to just a "single click" sound whenever ever after cold engine warm up and moved off?

If that the case, it should be the ABS locking check...all Latio have it bahz..
