anyone know how let dashboard show headlight indicator when the headlight is on? I mean the normal low beam. Find it is very ******** it only shows the position lights and high beam.
mine is cvt version so it comes with auto headlight. once i accidently switched to position lights only and drove at night. only realised headlight not on when entering car park.
-
just leave in auto mode and u dun need to worry whether got on or not....
for me i leave it in auto mode and just off engine....
so far 4yrs and nothing wrong....never change bulbs before...
-
why i'm asking this question is because if you see the dashboard carefully, there are some indicators symbols not used. i believe there is already a headlight symbol there but not enabled. so i'm wondering if anyone able to make the headlight indicator works.

yup as long as pole lights or headlights on the indicator will be on....so still not sure wat TS means?

The pole light indicator will be on regardless your headlight on or off. So by looking the pole light indicator, you won't know whether your headlight is on or not, unless you check your headlight switch position.
I hope my question is clear. I'm looking for an indicator on the dashboard to show whether the headlight is on or off.

oic now i understand...

Why will shorten the bulbs lifespan? Cos I also leave it at Auto for the past 18mths... :devil2:

How about other brands like toyota, honda? do they have this headlight indicator?
What I conclude is that the nissan engineers think once we switch on headlight, the driver should see the light on the road already. But the fact is Singapore road at night is so bright and latio's headlight so weak.
-
can look at reflections from car in front, singapore got so many traffic light for you to stop and check.
-
there is indicator on the headlight and turn signal switch
just make sure that it is turned all the way forward
-
Always switch off after parking and switch on by turning 1 click.
Sure on when dark.
ultimately, always practice good habit and dun get lazy.
-
Just imagine you drive for half an hour on high way and only realise your headlight is not on when almost reaching destination.
I always switch to off position after parking, and switch to auto in MSCP after starting engine. I have no problem with that. The problem is you can accidently switch to pole lights only. If you notice it is very hard to look down to check the signal switch below the steering wheels especially the car is moving. Therefore a simple headlight indicator will let you know whether the headlight is on.
If anyone try to check the physical signal switch position during moving, you will know how hard it is because the switch can be blocked by the steering wheel.
-
we were all taught to check/adjust seat position, mirrors and instrumentation before moving off
better to ensure that the switch for the headlight is turned all the way forward before moving off than looking for headlight indicator when driving
as always, better to keep eyes on the road and on the traffic situation

For CVT model, there are 4 position on the switch Off, Auto, Pole lights, Headlight. I only use Off and Auto. But sometimes it could be accidently switched to Pole light position and I didn't notice it. From the dashboard, I have no way to know the headlight is off although the pole light indicator is on.
For 4AT model without Auto headlight, it is straight forward turn the switch all the way down to turn on the headlight.

Then dun use Auto switch if u think 4AT method works better for u.
U still can do it like 4AT and like what u said "straight forward turn the switch all the way down to turn on the headlight."
U just need to cultivate this habit.

Haiz.... so simple. If you want to be sure and you don't want to (or difficult to) check the switch position while driving, then switch off headlights completely and switch on again with just one click forward lor. Tiok bo?

but you can't be sure if one of your headlight not functioning even the indicator is ON. saw a few latio with one brake light or headlight on the road, it give a negative impression latio quality. When waiting in traffic light, check the reflection of your headlight and look at side mirror to check your brake light take less then 5 sec without moving a finger.
