Title: Strut & Anti Roll Bar question
Post by: jliow on July 01, 2009, 05:03:42 PM
How much performance  / handling gain or safty gain is acheived by installing struct and anti roll bar?

Will installing such bars requires drilling of chassis? and will TCM make noise or worse void warranty

please share your experience, no TCSS please

Installation of both bars do not need any destructive drilling, it's just an bolt on.

How to quantify the gain?  That is a tough question.
For me, able negotiating a sharp turn w/o bar @ 60km/h, after installing strut bar, feels the same @ 75km/h.
So assume that the gain is about 25%.

u will feel the different more when install the front strut bar. The anti roll bar not necessary for our ride. If u want u can install the front lower arm bar.

anti roll not necessary?

do you even take corners fast? if you ever do, you will love the anti roll bars.

as for front lower arm, it only prevents chassis flex thus you feel a difference and latio's chassis .. is sad to say, not too rigid.

Yes, it will reduce the angle of the roll as compared to stock.

I was amazed when I have my bars installed at erev. All the "holes" for the bars to bolt on are already there - it is like Nissan deliberately have the holes there less the bars. They even have a metal plate there to cover up. So my guess is that Nissan deliberately left for 3rd parties to legally modify their cars.

i sent my car for servicing and TCM never make any noise. All they did was to note that I have "accessories" installed at the underchasis. Perhaps i also have my LED lights thats why the comment. They never write that I have a front struct bars tho.
