Maybe you wanna check if your seat is shaky even if the car is not moving. Could it be the seat is not secured on its track, or some bolts are loosen ? Try to adjust the forward / backwards movement again.

Is there any nuts that you can tighten yourself? When i get in and out of car, or adjust myself in the seat, i can also feel the loose-ness. But no time to go find out what is wrong. But think of it, the only way car seats are secured to the car body is by means of bolts and nuts isn't it?..

Um...

I have sent my ride to Tan Chong. They confirmed that the front seats are now jerky due to the accident I had on 27 May 09 (Hit in rear by lorry on ECP).
The loose effects only comes in 1 month after the repairs.
Now I cant make anymore claims for damages from 3rd party claim!
TC mechanic confirm back seat frames need to be changed, costing S$894 per seat!
So fellow Latioans, do take note when you have been involved in any accident whereby your ride was hit in the rear. This may happen to you too. Make sure you get the mechanics in TC to check the front seats backrest becos yr claim is submitted.
Now there is nothing I can do about it.
Anyone here got lobang for this type of repairs?. The workshop that did the repairs is trying to buy over those Latios send for scraps & help me replace the seats. Hopefully it wont drag to end of the year. :crycry:

Its the 2 front seats' backrest. It actually shakes.I went & try all other cars  & even ask around.
All dont shake at all

sengkang,

Why don't you just send your car bk to Tan Chong to check if it is under warranty.

Hi Clarence,
I did sent my car back to TC for their opinion.
The Svc advisor called the mechanic down & check. He confirmed that its due being knock from the rear in accident that resulted the shaky seats. cost per seat repair is S$894 each!

Did you ask what is the cause ? Frame work fracture ? If shacky can't it be tightened ?

Have you tried outside workshop ? Repairing shouldn't cause so much, unless it is a replacement.

Have you also try to speak to your insuance agent, since it was only a month ago, perhaps they can add to the claim.

Understd frm the workshop that once a claim has been submitted & workshop reimbursed for the damages claimed, any subsequent related damages can no longer be submitted.
My lawyer (I am suing the parties concerned) told me that for any injuries, all treatments must be complete before he will make the claim for me. He claimed that he had a case whereby his client who had a serious accident, completes his claims & got his monies. a couple of months later, his leg injury got swollen again & subsequently he had to amputates it. it is claimed that once his claim is done, no more payments will be made even if its related to the same accident causes. IN any case, I am still calling my insurance to double check. We can assume things as it is.

My front seats' jerky problem is going to be solved.
The workshop that did my repairs, has agreed to change my car seats for me.
My insurer claimed that the workshop can still make claims on 3rd party by calling the assessor down again. But  the workshop decided to change for me 1st & see later if they could claim again. THey need a day to work on it & will give me a rental car .
I didnt know we could still claim 3rd party for the same accident related problems after the claims had been made. The workshop dont think they can make any more claim.

If the workshop do not / cannot claim on the 3rd party, that means you need to pay fot the repair. How much does he charge for it for you need to pay ? You should ask that. Chances are that they will not make a 3rd party claim as it is too troublesome for them to arrange for the assessor.

Wish you good luck even if you need to pay at a much lower price.

Just curious, why need to change the whole seat, and not the railing ?

Same sentiment. Sometimes it pay to scrutinize them a bit. A seat is just a seat. If due to the accident some latch or stuff broke and the seat cannot sit securely on the railing or bracket, then just change that part la... changing the whole seat is expensive - alcantara seat.

Precisely, if able to claim insurance, then let it be, I mean what IF unable to claim ? Almost $900 for a seat is quite ex.

Even if u claim insurance, that $800 may also load your next year premium... so still bo hua to me.... but come to think of it... TCM may say that they dun sell that part alone, so need to change the whole assembly, in yr case, is the whole seat. Maybe u bring to outside workshop let other mechanic see see to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion.

The workshop have bought the parts from TCM & will do the repair tomorrow.
I am claiming 3rd party and I am sure I wont be charged becos I insisted they check on further 3rd party claim on related repairs.
TCM said that the seats joints catch is loosen as a result of the impact and there is no way to repair except change the parts affected.
I know alot of you are wondering, what the damage like in photos.
If you want I can send the photos in PM to yr email (File more than 200KB)
The lorry that hit me was actually a container truck without any load.
Based on bro vortex advise, i called my insurer and they told me to get the workshop to claim again. But the workshop told me that its not possible to make further claim anymore.
So I just leave it to them to sort it out among themselves.
I just want to get the repairs done.

Good to hear that you won't be charged for the repair. You can tell the workshop that it is advised by the insurer. Like what you said, it is the problem between the workshop and insurer. Any dispute, it is the assessor not doing his job well.

If still got problem, tell the workshop and insurer that you will report it to CASE!

Please update us on the progress. Take care and good luck.

2 weeks ago, I sent my car to Kang Auto & got passenger seat replaced with a seat purchased from a scrap Latio. Surprisingly its looks better than my driver seat. My seat maintenence sucks.
Today I am getting my driver's seat replaced. :yehyeh:

driver seat is always the worst wear and tear. How much does it cost to change one?

Bro, I believe it wouldnt cost much to replace the cushion. My repaired seat got a hole which i discovered only on the next day! Luckily Kang auto was responsible to just get that part of the leather replaced without any dispute!
