Title: Change of Spark Plug - Original
Post by: robtan99 on July 26, 2009, 08:25:16 AM
Hi All

Just sharing some spark plug experience in case anyone wants to change.

Just changed my stock spark plug at mileage 95K.  Proven our latio spark plug can actually last that long.

My FC still hoover around 13 - 14 at 95k.

Did some research before changing my spark plug.

Cost of Original Spark Plug + labour

Riverview auto = 180 + 30
Autosaver = 168 + 30
TCM = Dun even bother to find the price.
SOH Tyre = 160 Nett

Based on the above price,  decided to go SOH Brother.  They Spent 1h just to dismantle the engine bay section in order to reach to our 4 tiny spark plugs.  I understand now why everyone insist on charging labour.  Have tried asking whether other cheaper spark plugs can be used but realised only Nissan original spark plug can be fitted in.  Anyway, spend around 2 hrs at SOH Tyre for everything to be done.

The only bad thing is you will get more poisoning at this shop due to they sell tyres and rims too.  Almost tempted to change my rims whe you have 2 hrs staring at those displayed rims.

TCM = free with NPMP.

Good for you.  So far without NPMP for 60K, 70K, 80K & 90k

I spent total of 180 + 90 +  240 + 90 = 600 (choice of own engine oil) at autosaver.

Include own spark plug n fan belt = 160 + 75 = 235

Total i had spent = $835.

TCM = free with NPMP.

like that AS price is good. choice of own EO means AS have a few EO for you to pick one or you have to buy outside and bring for servicing?

AS mainly using Mobile1 if not wrong, but i always go to AS @ kaki bukit as they are the only one which carry Amsoil oil 5W30. top up abit rather than go for MO, wait for collection, drive to pick up stock & wait for servicing. i'm rather lazy, prefer do it at 1 spot when even i need.

Long long time ago, I brought my Sunny to a shop in Kaki Bukit for 20k servicing.
It was supposedly cheap as according to the forum.
But I was made to change the spark plug and aircon filter which cost me almost $200 more!
I signed up NPMP on my 30k and renewed at 50k. Peace of mind since then.
But I do like the kaki bukit place, the baby superstore.
