Hi,
Is it possible to release the hatch from the drivers seat? I've noticed some cars have a release lever but found none in my car (Sedan version). It would be great as I need to regularly drive through airport areas where the boot is inspected for security reasons.
Thanks,
-
It is not necessary to have this feature, as the custom officer will wait for you. He will not touch your belongings or open / close your boot without your presence. Hence, you still need to get out of your seat to close the boot.
-
Thanks , I know how to work around but does anyone know if the Lation sedan has this feature?
-
sedan dun have, I knew it when I check on Latio before buying. If you mod it, should be in a form of an electronic push button that taps on the push button on the hatch.
-
personally i do not find it necessary.
our latio is keyless, unlike others which u need to insert key if u r out of car or pull level when u inside car. just a light tap at the button below, it will just open.
if u lazy to get out of car, just give instruction to whoever wants to open it to tap the bottom button. my nephew who is 11 yrs old has no difficulty in locating the button too.
-
many security officers already know how to open latio boot. so not to worry. if not just get off the car to open lah, you still need to close the boot any way.
-
Security guard and police are not supposed to open or inspect your boot if you're not with them, so no choice, you still have to get down and accompany them.
Only worry is you stop at traffic light, some punk run in, open your boot from behind and steal your things. But I never heard of this happen before ahah.

Hmm..when your car is locked. No one suppose can open your trunk. You can test.

I just get in and drive, normally dun lock while im inside. Got no autolock function also.
But it's ok, nothing valuable in my trunk.

Sometime we machiam taxi driver and dropped off a friend at the bus stop. Without the release within the car, the driver must come out to open to boot and may even have to help him carry the luggage to the kkerbb, machiam goo ervicd taxi driver.. So having this feature is useful..

if u need to help carry the luggage, then it's no difference that u get out of car even if u have the release botton. If no need to help, just ask yr friend to push the button himself lor. anyway it's easy to locate.

When i am still driving my mazda 323 sedan, they have this hatch release lever, pull it to open the boot. But i dunno why they take away this function for modern cars....
-
The central lock would lock all doors including boot. Once u unlock all doors including boot would be able to be opened by anyone. Whoever that needed to open the boot would only need to lift the boot by touching the soft touch under the chromed handle.
I believe u refer to the "spring" action of typical car; which would cause the boot to spring up.
I find the latio function pretty decent.
-
Sometimes when I pick up people, they have stuff they wanna put in boot. So i stay inside car keep gesturing them to pull to open boot, they go press Ikey button.
If got release will be more convenient.
-
I knew this "problem" before I decide to buy latio. The leg brake and no hatch release lever is something new to me. was comparing latio with another model that can auto open hatch with just a press on its key, iirc I think is Colt Plus. If you know any lobang to add a level to our latio let me know too.

It not a problem, it a feature which is not added in.
-
I believe this option could be easily added by connecting a switch to the driver area if needed because the button you touch to open your boot seems and feels like a switch. If I need it bad enough, I might explore the possibility.

Is the push button mechanical or electronic? Sounds electronic to me. If so, maybe just connect wires can liao.

Hi,
Apologised for the late reply because I have just gotten back from my annual leave.
However with regards to your enquiries, I regret that this function (rear boot lever similar to that Nissan Sunny) is not possible
to be installed on Latio as yet because Nissan do not cater to this modification nor provide an option to its customers.
Therefore, please pardon me for not providing you with the infomation that you enquire. Thank you.
Thank you & Best Regards,
