will be buying new tyres soon...intend to stick to stock 185/65/R15.
looking at either Hankook or Falken ZE912 now...hoping can find good lobang..
3 questions:
1) how do i check the tyres' manufacture dates to ensure i am getting brand new tyres?
2) how do i check the country of manufacture?
3) what's the market price for wheel alignment/re-balancing after the tyres change?
pls kindly advise. thank you
-
1 & 2) http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html
3) balancing - FOC, alignment - $40~$60
with the wheel taken off the car can do the following if you have the time and interest:
a) weigth your rim and the new tyre for future reference.
b) ask them to check absorber, check wheel bearing. should be FOC.

Saw in today's papers. Brand new Continental Comfort Contact 1. 185/65R15 only $80 each. Stamford Tyres.
I think Continental is more superior.

Continental Comfort Contact 1 is their lowest range of tyres..
i believe every brand has their flagship model of tyres.. and not the entire range of tyres are equally fantastic.. a reputable brand will carry baisc entry tyres for consumers who emphasize on price not quality so dont blindly go for brand, you need to understand and which range and wat characteristic of tyres suit your driving habits and patterns.

You have your point but I rather pay for a low end Continental tyre than a high end China made Nankang tyre.
Which would you choose?
Nankang XR611 - $77.70

i will not get both.. i like to drive fast even on wet road so for me good braking and traction on wet road as top priority so I will rather go for Toyo T1R or Hankook V12

I just changed my shoes to Hankook Optimo K415 today - very quiet, very smooth and I must say the customer service experience at Toh Guan is excellent: very fast Tyre changing (<30 mins) and Penang guy-in-charge is friendly, chatty and can converse well in common hobbies (we both liked hard-core sports). I'm also surprised upon visiting the 2nd floor showroom with the pool table, avant garde rim displays and radical bar counters as payment counters! There's even a children's room although I suspect it's under-used as the Tyre changing is too fast!
Overall, a superb customer experience at Hankook!

The listed was for CCC1 which is for comfort doubt the grip is any better. Better off getting the CPC2 which is better but more costly.
The conti Eco & Comfort Contact are pretty much green tyres; grip wise nothing to shout about compare to the Premium Contact.
My personal experience on the CPC2 is much better than the V2 Blackbird; especially when it comes to the prices
