Title: 100K servicing @ TC
Post by: d.titan on September 14, 2009, 01:51:46 PM
Hi all,
Car reaching 100K soon..reaching 3 yrs end Sept '09
Beside the usual 100K servicing (change oil, filter...etc)
plan to change spark-plug too.

Recently just change air-compressor (2nd time)
steering coupling (2nd time)
engine mounting (no parts, so have to wait till later date to replace)

Any any other parts need to bring to SA attention for my last warranty servicing?

Thanks for all advise

Save a lot of money?

You already paid a lot of money for the NPMP package to begin with.

It cost over $1,000.

Not surprising....last time when I had my altis, in 2.5yrs, I already clocked 80k going for 90k....cos I worked in the east and hubby in central...so he needs to fetch me to and fro work...now we split two cars then the mileage slow down for both....

Yes its pretty high mileage..
Stay at the east work at the west,
every wkday is abt 100km.
Travel alot on highway every morning
But 1 thing i like abt this car is
the FC (14-16 km/L) is v.good compare to my previous cars

I've read some of you guys changed the aircon compressor under warranty..
may I know what's wrong?

Cos I do encounter one aircon compressor cut in /cut out very frequently, esp when I'm outside car so can hear distinctly.

Hi Bro,
Compressor cut in & out is normal.
Mine was replaced because its not cold,
just blown cool air even set temp at the lowest.
And the compressor tends to be a bit more noiser from what i observe.

Just hope this one will last a bit longer......warranty ending soon......

Hi,

I think our bro pay so much cos he did not sign up for the package.
He only do a individule package B $345.
And the don't include part.
So brake, plug and belt bo cover.
Warrenty don't cover wear and tear part.
So he had paid 200+ for the material.

Hope it help.

Hi bro,
i pay the usual 100k servicing package, $300 plus
But the spark plug IS ex...think its abt $40 per pce (4 x $40 is abt $160)
The brake pad is abt $100 plus
Battery is abt $78 i think..

So total is abt there....
Not too bad as i have travelled 100k KM in car,
so i guess its quite ok for those items that need to change.

Now another issue,
engine starts to ping...
Advised to clear carbon highway and use higher grade petrol
to reduce ping.
Any bros having this issue too??
Any advise to get rid of this pinging??
Thanks for all advises.

Hi,

I don have this Ping!!! promblem.
But i have heard people use higher grade to clear carbon.
Like V power.
But i have a habit, of pump at least 2 full tank of ESSO 8000 every.
So i don really have this promblem.

I now really have to consider very hard.
To cont my servicing package with Nissan, since i have started 1st package with them.
As i am hitting 60K soon.

Since the package all in.
Part and labour.

Regards

if you want to go TCM for servicing, get the NPMP else can find cheaper package outside. The spark plug, fan belt, air filter and brake pad are included in the nett $1091 but have to buy battery(after warranty) with some discount. Once you sign up you dont have to worry about the increasing cost for labour and parts.

You pay more if you only take one single sercive package from them.

Hi,
Thanks for all replies.
Yes i m using 98 petrol for my car now and
try to ram to higher rpm to clear more carbon.
Hope this pinging will go away soon.

After the warranty, think i will go to outside workshop for
servicing and repair.

Any recommends...thanks

As my mileage is hitting 72K, do I need to go for major servicing like this?

Still thinking which AMSoil to choose, 0W20 or 5W30. Previous servicing is Mobile 1, but I find AMSoil is smoother.

d.titan,

Latio can accept 92 RON, so even if you pump 92RON petrol, the engine should not ping or there shd be no knocking noise.

It could be due to some mechanical problem.

Hi,
Thanks.
i check on the net regarding engine ping.
It says some advance timing, cabon builtup causing it.
Recomed higher octan petrol.
i have use abt 4 tank of 98 petrol already, seems like its not pinging anymore.
Will monitor longer......
Any other bro encounter similiar...?
Thanks

Hi,

I pump both 5000 8000.
Found that 8000 engine more responsive.
But eat petrol

Hi,
Yes I agree that after i switch to 98 RON petrol the car is more
responsive. But mileage dropped, used to get more than 500 at 1/4 mark.
Now abt 450, reached 1/4 mark already.
Hopefully the CPU get use to 98 petrol then the mileage will be better.

D.titan bro,

I  don think is the petrol grade cause ur ping!!! problem.
Not to forget our engine can take 92 grade, as mention in our manual.
btw how old is ur car?

Or u may wan to consider a engine flush on ur next servicing.
Cos it help to clean our engine piston and etc.

U may wan to check it out.

For the spark plus in the NPMP package, do they replace it with the normal plug or with the iridium plug?

was on amsoil 100% 5w30 from 10K~70K-mileage, generally good in all aspect. satisfied !!

just recently change to motul 300v 5w30, monitored for 2wks now liao .... found that there's a lag in both pick-up from initial-standstill and sudden rev on the move (fyi, me aldy spark-bridged liao) but nevertheless low-engine noise when rev >3000rpm and damn smooth-engine once it hits >100kph.

understand this is a racing EO, therefore required to drive it hard inorder to perform ?

tks.
