extended warranty from Kar engineering
« on: March 30, 2010, 04:23:26 PM »
Hi,

any bro here buy extended warranty from Kar engineering before? Is it good?worth it due to the high COE now?

http://www.warranty.com.sg/index.aspx

They offer 1,2,3,5 yrs of warranty coverage.
http://www.warranty.com.sg/silver.aspx

It is meant for cars which has "expired" the first 3 yrs warranty.

Not sure if anyone has tried this before.

thks

They will do one time full car checking and rate your car conditon A B C D where A is good for warranty.

I check mine there and was rated B due to issue with compressor issue lower arm bush.

Need to resolve this before theywarranty mine as they keep a record.

Is it cheaper than Tan Chong's extended warranty? Looking at TWM site, not cheap. For a 3yrs old latio, would be $1200/year... 3 yrs coverage=$3600..

I agree with that.  Moreover, they only cover the below but not servicing.

1  Engine
2 Fuel Delivery System
3 Turbo Charger (Factory fitted)
4 Engine Cooling System
5 Auto & Manual Transmission
6 Torque Converter
7 Drive Shaft
8 Propeller Shaft
9 Differential
10 Brake System
11 Suspension
12 Steering
13 Air Conditioning System
14 Alternator & Electric Motor

I think $1200 per year for Latio warranty is too high. In fact the correct pricing for TWM is $500 per year/25000km, $850 for 2 years/50000km, $1200 for 3 years/75000km...

Normally when you take up their warranty program, you will be given 1 free servicing.

More information on the details and pricing at:

I guess I must have read the pricing table wrongly. Think you're right, its $1200 for 3yrs or 75K km coverage.

If  i m currently on Tan Chong servicing program till 100km, do i still need to go TWM for accessment? If passed, can i continue with my current servicing program instead of going to their appointed workshop?

Hi bro, you will have to go through the thorough 1 hour check up even if you still have your existing servicing program until 100,000km.  Once your Latio passed the warranty test, you can purchase their warranty program according to your needs (1, 2, 3 or 5 years). For the validity of the TWM program, you have to go to their 20+ appointed workshop around Singapore including ComfortDelgro or their 2 main TWM workshops in Sin Ming Drive and Serangoon.

My company, Terminal 2 International LLP, is their TWM authorised Platinum reseller for TWM program. For more details and info on TWM, you can email me at: jmktang@yahoo.com or contact me (Johnny) at 9852 4328.

By the way, even if you have your 100,000km servicing program with TCM, they do not really inform you on problems (some maybe premature failure) such as aircon, alternator, suspensions and others until you, yourself, found out the problem and inform they to fix it. Of course, for some of these problems which they found out, they will inform you and get you to pay for the parts and repair especially when your car warranty was over... Some premature problems will have symtoms telling you that it is not working well. For some agents and workshops, they purposely do not inform you on the problem during servicing which is still under warranty period until your warranty period is over, they will inform you on the problem and get you to pay for the replacement and repair....

Hi,

i am getting a 2nd hand car and was quite interested in getting the warranty, if we want to purchase the warranty, we need to let them check our vehicle. Do we need to pay for them to check the vehicle prior to the approval for the warranty cover?

Hi bro, if you are keen to get the warranty, you can come to my office to collect the warranty test checkup voucher so that you don't have to pay for the checkup in Kar Engineering in Sin Ming Drive as my company, Terminal 2 International LLP, is their platinum authorised reseller for their TWM Extended Warranty Program. By right, Kar Engineering and my company have an agreement that only my 8500+ EPS members are entitled to have free warranty test checkup following by TWM Extended Warranty purchase with a 5% rebate to EPS members.

Usual 1 to 1.5 hour (1.5 hour checkup is usually for continental and sport cars such as BMW, Meserati, Jaguar, Benz, Porsche, Farrari, Lambo, Aston Martin, Saab, Volvo, VW and more) checkup will cost from $100 onwards. Kar Engineering is also marketing some of my proven products such as UTR Performance Stainless Steel drop-in Air filter, UTR Power Charger Evo Series and others.

More info and enquiry, you can contact me at 9852 4328 or email at: jmktang@yahoo.com

Thanks.
