Frankly speaking, I have used all the 4 brands of petrol b4, no significant difference in fc. Currently using shell coz got company discount mah. I only use 95 or 5000.

I have tried all brands of fuel - SPC, Shell, Caltex, Esso.

Esso gives me the best mileage, so I am using Esso 5000.

what is the discount rate you get for SPC? Esso can get 14+% with deviden card. 750pts for $30 petrol.

I don't use Citibank Dividend card anymore, but use DBS Esso card to enjoy direct 12% discount.

I discovered that Citibank had miscalculated my rebate amount and I am getting less rebate than what I am entitled to. It happened to few of my friends too.

me on SPC 92, caltex 92

between these 2 .. i find that spc 92 give me better mileage (FC= 12.1km/l) while caltex is FC 11.5km/l

but not significant leh haha

so i just use SPC.. to save $$$ while use caltex to chalk abit of points to my credit card..

I pump Esso

12% direct discount using DBS Esso card with  a further 3% discount when I redeem 750 points for $30 worth of petrol ($1.25 = 1 point).

Total 15% discount.

How many % discount do you get at SPC?

spc 95. best FC for my latio 3yrs

13-14km/l

mix highway and city...imo latio most efficient when cruising at 100kph and one should occasionally goes up to 4-5krpm and 120-140kph to work the engine and let the onboard chip learn...

if i drive slowly... my car eats petrol faster...

How can be most efficient at 100kph with strong wind resistance and high rpm? Are you cvt or 4at?

My ride is coming up to the two year mark in 3 months time. So far beginning used only 95 from Esso and now switched to 92...don't see any significant difference cos my average FC is still 11.00 to 11.5km/ltr.

misconception that driving slowly saves fuel.

if you look at charts, when the car is in the overdrive gear and going at optimum speeds, it consumes the least.

1 2 and 3rd gear consumes more petrol as they are considered "picking up" gears.

cheers bro.

you will be surprised at the fc you get when you drive normally and not extremely frugally.

i used to clock 12km/l on my latio, 30% city, 70% highway, and half the time i am on wideopen throttle and high rpms to pick up and when i reach 90km/h, i just cruise..

I agree, but optimum speed for 4AT is around 60km/h, that's the least possible speed for overdrive gear. Wind resistance not very big as well.

Saying Latio most efficient at 100km/h is just wrong, the RPM and wind resistance is too high. Cruising at that speed will only give you 16km/l at most, cruising at 60km/h can get 20+km/l.

Does running Latio on higher octane 98RON petrol translate to more power?

Latio min RON required is 92.

Latio min RON required is 92.

Higher octane rating does NOT give you more power.

Do note some premium petrols like VPower and Techron is RON98 with additives, so the additives might be the one giving you power, not the higher grade petrol.

I have been on SPC 92. Depending on my speed and type of driving, my consumption can vary from 11 - 14 km/l.

Any of the bros here experience 'knocking'?
