I face the same problem as bro cheemeng, air-con got sound, thought is need to top up gas but was told cooling coil spoilt, as warranty over, decided not to pay more than 1k for replacement at TCM, went to toh guan autoaid and it was replaced nicely.

The mechanic there, ex-tcm staff very experience, was expecting him to remove my entire dashboard like bro cheemeng did in JB, but he say dun need, coz he know actually which clip and part to remove to access the cooling coil.

must add that i choose to use 3rd party cooling coil instead of paying extra for original. Was assured that it is as good and got 6 mths warranty, was told confidently at least 3 years no problem. My current wan also original latio cooling coil but 3.5 years also up lorry  :nonod:.

replace cooling coil, evaporation valve, o ring, air-con gas foc, labour, gst etc all for around $400, comparing going into malaysia(still cheaper as using original coil) to do, i rather do it in singapore coz anything wrong still can go back easily.

nice job, now my air-con really cold & quiet

foc check of my engine area, air-filter, engine oil etc and whatever top-up neccessary included.
the below pic is that of my spoilt cooling coil, still can use if I can tahan the stupi* noise but i decided to change for peace of mind.

dsrio:

Hi dsrio, can pm me the contact of the person who service your car and the actual cost for coil replacement?

After 5 years and 2 months, my aircond suddenly not fuctioning when I was about to drive back to SG from Malaysia. It was ok the night before. I when to a workshop that was open on sunday for a check. They said the gas pressure was very low and the coil was leaking. Changing the coil need 2 days, cost ~RM1000 with 1 year warranty. I asked them to refill the gas (Rm50) so that I can drive back to SG before I decide to fix it. They insert a meter into the aircond vent and measure the gas leak after they refill the gas. I was told the leakage is slow and I might breath in the aircond gas slowly for quite some time. So I am looking for places to fix it soon.
