double layer may not solve the rattling sound problem, i've got 2 layers and still getting pissed off by the intermittent noise that spoils my mood when trying to enjoy some music on the move. worst, embarrassing when fetching guests with the new but squeaky car

i've sent my ride to TCM 3 times; even left the car there for 2 days for a more thorough job. noise level was a lot better after much insulation and "moisturizing" (to the leather parts) are done. i think insulation is the way towards better noise reduction.

imo, the latio's interior is very badly made despite being very spacious and having nice suede upholstery; i expected more from a MIJ car (a TC selling point too). dashboard, front/rear seats & door panels are all too noise capable. when car goes over uneven floor, we get the tubberwares rubbing against each other and flimsy plastic door panels "singing" together at times. never had this problem with other makes i've driven before (dun count the >10yrs COE cars).

sad to say this but if can go back in time, will probably stay away from latio despite its good FC and competitive price :crying:

have you try the previous lancer? It should make you feel better.

Have you tint your glass? if not try it and get those thicker film.

The original state of the door hinge is too smooth for local use,  maybe the jap always close the door softly. Can ask the workshop to tighten it, that should remove some vibration.

About the seat, I had the same problem but I solved it by reposition my child seat or add a piece of tower under the toddler booster seat. Worse case put those special design seat cover.

dunno about the lancer but the only car i've owned in the past which has squeaky upholsteries was a datsun 100A, also MIJ but it was like 14+yrs old at that time :D
prev car was a MIJ 10+yrs old corolla conquest and interior was still quiet as can be... solid car and one of the most popular in kangarooland
