Nissan Recall Campaign - replacement of Electrical Relay
« on: June 18, 2011, 10:10:36 PM »
hi,
i wonder if anyone of you has received letter from TanChong regarding the subject matter?

The letter mentioned about Nissan has recently announced a recall campaign in Singapore on
Lafesta, Latio, March and Sylphy.

anyone of you is affected by the campaign? Have you sent your car for the rectification already?

You meant that you had received such notification? Which year does your ride belong to?

I got my Latio in 2005 November. It has served me quite well over the years.
I have not sent my Latio to Tan Chong for servicing all these years as I find it expensive compared to workshop outside. As I am the old-fashioned driver, ie. I don't jerk, I don't race, I don't do other "cosmetic" changes to the car, I treat my car purely as a transportation means to get from A to B.

To be honest, I am reluctant to send my car to Tan Chong for fear that the mechanics will find "faulty" parts in my car and get me to change them at high cost, in the process of changing the "electrical relay" as I have read from other posts in the forum.

That's why I would like to gather more feedback from you first....

Mine is Aug 2005, the relay was being replaced at TCM in Mar'11. There is no cost involved, and the plus point is that the car feels lighter after relay replacement.
