Compressor, cooling coil, condenser
« on: December 12, 2014, 03:10:16 PM »
Just wondering how long can each of the parts last?

I had my aircon problem 3 years back and during the 3years, I change out compressor (from ma** co**), cooling coil and recently change out magnetic clutch.

Problem come back again. This time the workshop say compressor need to change (which I also faint).
Condenser need to change as leaking (bought 2nd hand car and didnt know the car got accident before.)

Wonder is anyone can explain what is the purpose for each parts (compressor, cooling coil, condenser).
For what I know from the workshop,
If the compressor not working and vehicle is stationary, aircon not cold.
If the compressor not working and vehicle is moving, aircon is cold.
Condenser if leaking, need to change out as it leaks the gas out.

Than what does cooling coil does.

Compressor should work regardless if the vehicle moving or not. Magnetic clutch is to cut in/off the compressor. The cooling coil is located under the dash board with fan blowing air to the cabin. The air is cooled by the cooling coil so you will feel the cool air from the vent.

You can imagine the compressor is the outdoor unit, and cooling coil is the indoor unit of your home aircon.
