I wonder how far is the effective distance to detect the ikey.  I can start the engine with the ikey in my office bag, which I placed on the back row.

our rear mirror got auto-dim function when bright light is shore on it. Could the cable be for controling this function.

Got to know from SE that our centre rear mirror got dimming function to protect the driver's eyesight. The part on the cable providing power is additional from me.

dont know what is tat, but know that Ikey can be in boot of car, and still drive-able

It's the Ikey sensor, whoever choose not to believe can alway unplug the cable and see if you can start your car. And if your car is started, it does not matter where is your ikey, your engine will continue to run as long as you don't switch it off, the only difference when the Ikey is out of range while you're driving is that you'll see a flashing red Ikey icon on your meter.

So long as the key is within the car it will work. I tried with the keys in my gym bag in the boot before.

i know that BMW got such function. Our latio got har? power leh. how to try it out???

All I know is that I had taken that plug out before to test. Want to know if the mirror has dimming effect, get someone with HID and high beam you and you'll know.
