Hi all,
I bring my own Amsoil 0W30 for my 10,000km servicing. No service charge. Brought 4 bottles, used only 3 bottles and return me the remaining 1 bottle.
I must say AMSOIL is good, after reading good reviews here in this forum.
Wanna know why i say good?
Normally, from full (at the brink) to first quarter mark will clocked about 120km.
After using AMSOIL, i managed to clock 130km++ a whooping difference of 10KM!
Driving pattern still same: 80% highway 20% city. Quite light footed, rev till 2500RPM from stationary when moving off.
Normally i pump Esso 5000. But after servicing I pumped Esso 8000. I dunno whether Esso 5000 and Esso 8000 unleaded got diff in my FC variations.
All I can say engine now more smooth and more responsive, with better FC. Just my 2 cents.

The NPMP deal comes with my latio purchase. Anyone knows at what mileage the NPMP starts?
Im considering changing to synthetic oil at 10K. Is it advisable?
Anyone brought engine oil to TCM during servicing before .. do they change a fee?
Tks

NPMP is applicable from 20,000 km to 50,000km or 30 mths, whichever comes first.
Recommended to change to synthetic oil at 10,000km so that you can stretch your next oil change to 20,000km rather than 15,000km if you use mineral engine oil.
You can bring your own engine oil but i oyu are under NPMP package, it defeats the purpose as engine oil is already included in the package and I am unsure if they will give you a refund.
Does anyone know if we want to use synthetic engine oil at 10,000km servicing, do we have to top up $$$?

I should say that in general, your car's improved smoothness and responsiveness is due to 2 major factors - new engine oil (can be any brand) and 98 RON petrol.
