Falken 912

Dear all,

Anyone used this set of tyres before? Went to stamford tyres to look at some rims today and they only offer falken tyres....sianz. Wanted V8 Hankook or Bridgestone GR80....haha

Falken tyres tend to be sticky in nature and wear out faster.

Try Leong Seng Tyres at Ubi

They are not brand specific and carry a wide range of tyres and sports rims.

If you are lucky, you may even find some almost new 2nd hand rims in tip top condition.

To me, whether it's comfort or quiet tyres, it does not make much difference, unless you are driving a Lexus LS460 or Rolls Royce where the cabin is so quiet that you can hear the tyre noise.

Latio cabin is not quiet to begin with, and any tyre noise would be eliminated by the wind and engine noise entering the cabin.

alan, u might want to try asking someone who has used 912 b4, and that would be kenny59.

but as for quiet tyres, it does make a difference. I was on stock tyres first, then Michelin Preceda, then Hankook V8, the noise level has a drastic difference. Then went onto RS2, my god....the noise level shot up, then try S1 Evo, phuah....big world of difference again. Then now using V12, the noise level is noiser than the S1 Evo.

The SSW rims I've seen are mostly heavy, because in Thailand, their roads are pretty banged up. Alot of potholes. When i drove to Bangkok, i had the "pleasure" of experiencing their potholes. I even stopped at 1 rim and tyre shop in Hatyai, and realised that most, if not all the rims were solid, heavy types. But i realised that those rims were suited for their type of roads. You get a lightweight rim with low profile tyres there, they are as good as goners.

bro, sales talk. if u thick skinned abit like me, bring a weighing scale weigh the rim! if got 7kg, i will also consider. actually im thinking of buying that 10 slim spokes like a star design rim.

btw, if anyone wants to ask whether 900gm makes a difference, i will say yes.

u can ask how much stamford is taking in ur rims n tyres when u just buy rims from them.. ask abt those hidden cost like never use their tyre they charge how $$$ for labour and those tiny things.. if not change rims at hankook toh guan lor. there also got 17" rims and a weighing scale there for u to weigh ur rims... most important is they got installment too.....
