Where to put the handheld holder?
« on: August 29, 2008, 07:27:10 PM »
Hi,

Havent post online for awhile liao. Recently got a Tytn II and been playing with the Mapking GPS. Find it rather useful except that I do not have a handheld holder to hold the handset. Hence abit dangerous to look and drive at the same time.

Like to seek help and advice from these bro/sis that is currently using a GPS phone.

1) What type and brand of handset holder did you get for it? Any recommendation and price?

2) Where do you place/fix the handset holder. There seem to be not much space in our dashboard and I do like to fix it from the windscreen. Find it rather ugly. Any help there and well picture will be nice.

Hope to get some tips from the GPS users in TLC.
Runicboy.

I bought a car holder around S$10.  It has air-con vent mount.  I don't like mount it to the windscreen.  So it is mounted on the central air-con vent.  Easy to view and touch aslo.  The drawback it will block part of the air-con vent.

i have broken my old car's aircon vent due to those clip-on aircon vent holders. i suggest not to do that. also same thing goes for those air freshners. i always loosen the clip before i slide it in. when the car is new, no problem. after a few years under the hot sun the plastic become hard and brittle, tat's when u're gonna have a piece snap off if you pull to hard.

You can get those hand held holders with 3M double sided adhesive and stick it on your dashboard.
