First Thousand Servicing AT TCM
« on: October 12, 2008, 06:30:07 PM »
Just got first 1,000km servicing at Toa Payoh TCM. Told me they will vacuum and wash my car...

in the end, they only wipe the windscreen. :X
somemore the reciept put "Compliment of washing and vacuum"...  :out:

Anyway, did they change the engine oil to Sythetic or remain as Mineral? I'm a car noobie... :X

1st 3 check is using  mineral oil (which is Free of charge)

from the reviews i have seen/search>> it is best not to ask them to wash for u >> cos they tend to scratch your car or do a lousy washing job...

So far, for my past 2 servicing (1K and 5K)>> no washing =D

After my 5k service, I found that they missed out washing the front,  Can see that it was really rush job.  As I had 2 layers of carpet/mats, they are not put back properly but scattered around!  Next service, I'll insist they don't wash or vacuum my Latio.

Can actually book through the website. There is a section where you can insert the complains.

Yah, the car wash for my previous service also nood that good, told the SA and he ask the uncle to wash again. I pitty the uncle, one person wash so many car.

Think again, there is so many car doing servicing on any day. If they use machine wash, prepare to get scratch. If they use hand wash, The first car of the day may be much cleaner than the last car, after all we are human. Dont think they have a car washing team to make sure all car is clean inside out. I even wonder did they just jet spray water then wipe off for every car, coz I had a patch of wax which I forgot to buff off before the servicing and it was still there after the second washing. So in future I will ask them just jet spay the tyre area and under car will do.

Don't expect quality cleaning for your car as these men have to wash so many cars in a day, just wash for the sake of washing. Better not to wash. Car not clean and still get new scratches and swirl marks.

That's why I always request them not to wash my car after servicing.

Actually I also thinking that when I do my servicing this Wed. I think I will just ask them to vaccum interior and clean my sports rims only after servicing.

From personal experience,  if you want to exclude car wash, then it is better  not to use any of their cleaning services at all.

Because they are always so busy, instructions are often not properly followed and they may end up washing your car too.

Yes...they replaced the rusty bolt and re-do the hind windscreen alignment.....

5k - Toa Payoh, 2 complains not solved, car wash like not washed
10k - Coming up @ Ubi.  1 previous problem solved myself.  2 previous + 2 additional complains to solve!    Must bang table already....

Cool it.

It is normal to have to make at least a repeat visit before Tan Chong solves your problem.

I've gotten used to it.
