New Brake Pads making alot of noises

Hi, I went to AMK Autopoint & replaced mergent brake pads (Metallic) for my Latio in early June 08. After the installation, I drove off but realised that whenever I braked or moved off, i always hear braking noise like whenever we go for a manual carwash, there is this noise that will go off when our brakes are dry.
I decided that give the brake noise to wear for a week but it was still there all the time. Being fedup, I went back to the workshop again to complaint abt the noises. The workshop owner took the brakes out & told me that my brakes have slanted, meaning that my rotors are slanted.
(My Latio is 2 yrs 4 mths old) He then tooks both brakes & file them, hoping to resolved the noises I was complaining. We went for test drive but noise problem still remains. The workshop owner told me that there is no guarantee abt brake noises. But I have changed brakes b4 but neve encounter these brake noise problems. Now I am still getting these noises for 5 months.
I sent my Latio for service & asked them to check my brakes. They commented that it is ok.
Last week, I called the brand, Mergent distributor & spoke to the sales lady, she commented that it must be the rotor & not the brakes. I asked Hussien (Former TC foreman), he said I shoudnt have used metallic brake pads but the lady from Mergent told me its never the metallic type issue. So now I am confused. The noise problem is the brakes or the rotor?
Wont want to change rotor & still did not resolve the braking noise issue.
Can anyone enlighten me on this problem. I am really bearing with the brakin noises.

better use Nissan original parts, no such issue.
remeber last time my friend used 3rd party brake pads on his corrolla, very cheap, but a lot of metallic powder on the rims.

mayb can change another type of brake pad to test it out.

If your brake rotor is damaged, you can send it back to Tan Chong to get a replacement set since your car is still under warranty.

However, I am unsure if Tan Chong will honour their warranty for this, as you have used after market, non original brake pads.

I've just changed to mergent and having exactly same problem!

Semi Metallic pads has a higher temperature range and thus thens to be a little squirky at lower temperature but operates fine, it has better braking power and that could be the reason why it's a little squirky. I'm also getting it on my semi metallic N Brakes but once it warms up, it's better.

don't be sad bros,
I am using stock brakes, also have this problem when I brake while reversing, going in front no such sound, and yes, the sound only present when the car haven't warm up.
Change brake pads during 40k km servicing but sound still persist, will get them to check rotor during next servicing.

Looks like have to live with it for a while. It gets more irritating during jams in start stop traffic.

But braking do seem to have improved, maybe because it's new.

What is spec for our original brake pad?

I think the brake pad we changed , shld be ceramic type. not metallic.
The one I had produced sound untill today but the braking effect is there.
Guess we better know what product suits us 1st b4 changing them.
For metallic type, I was told its meant for slot & milled rotor disc.
Problem is the work pple always recommend changing of brake pads & rotor discs!
We dont need to change rotor discs unless it changes its shapes but that seldom happen.

Like that makes me think twice before changing some items @ outside workshop.
Because we r not experts (of course we learn after paying some money  , even brake pads also can make such a difference.
Then I'll just stick to changing engine oil outside.. auto trans oil also better change at TC.

yeah true outside workshops tends to advertised alot of their products whenever we patronise their shop to do simple parts replacement eg. wipers
For brake pads & disc rotors for latio can consider VTTR its a taiwan brand but price is definetly cheaper than jap brands

Just changed front brake pads b4 CNY at $125 (1 pair) at autosaver (original part) as advised by them, after market product mays create noise after replacement.
