Pump Tyres Air
« on: December 10, 2008, 11:12:57 AM »
Hi guys,

I have no time to go to HengTyre @ Kallang there to pump my Nitrogen air for my new GR80 tyres...

Last night, I pump at ESSO fuel stn @ clementi. Those air are not Nitrogen air right?

The front tyres, i pumped 230. The rear tyres, i pumped 210. Follow the common standard, dare not over pump the air pressure. Any comment?

So, now the air in the 4 new GR80 tyres are mixed liao, how ah? Any knowledge need to share with me for this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Yours iagree.
sorry, i must agree because i don't know how to disagree. agreeeee only....

Hi all

Any fuel stns provide Nitrogen for our tyres? If there is any, then I can pump from there liao, i don't have time to travel to HengTyre to pump, not convenient... Regret liao to chg my tyres at HTyre coz I dont have time to go there...

IMO, to chg tyres, choose a workshop which is the most convenient to you, for e.g. i shld chg at the West side of Spore. Most convenient to me....

Last night, my tyre pressures (Before Pump) were:
1) Front tyres, around 205 before pump
2) Rear tyres, around 195 before pump
I guess it is normal? I hv never done any air pump for 5000km after my last changed of my 4 GR80 tyres.

Regards.

only free AIR (no nitrogen) provided at petrol stations

Do you measure your tyre pressures using your own tyre gauge?

Front 205 and Rear 195 - the tyres are underinflated.
How's your FC lately?

All petrol station provide ~78% Nitrogen FOC because the air that we breath in contain that much of nitrogen naturally.

hi Silver

FC? if no stuck at causeway (jam) , the FC is abt 13kmL. if stuck, most of the time is abt 10km/L.

front 205 n rear 195, abt 2 to 3mths never pump already.

where is own tyre gauge? how to check?

if normal AIR vs nitrogen, now both is mixed in my tyres, any impact?

thanks.

hi ying

i see.
HTyre told me, i can pump at any petrol stn first, then go to their workshop to repump all Nitrogen air to the tyres leh.

but, mix both type of airs in tyres is ok rite? if no bad impact, then leave it.

then how do you know that the pressures are 205 (F) and 195 (R)?
by reading from the pump?

any impact of air and "pure" nitrogen mixed in the tyres, - so sorry, I have no experience with that
maybe just that you will not be able to enjoy the full benefits of "pure" nitrogen - lower heat generation, slower tyre pressure loss, etc

Forget abt N2 just pump normal air at the kisok will be suffcient. And further more pumping N2 for daily usuage no difference and both also need to top up around 2 weeks. Always pump when the tyres are cold less than 200km of travel.

Hi

You can mix nitrogen with oxygen.  Been doing that for the past 30k.  Normally at each 10k service interval, autosaver will deflate
all 4 tyres and pump with nitrogen again.

haha, it is more choice and fun to service outside but less worries with TCM service package.

you will never get 100% pure Nitrogen gas in your tire, since there is always some air in the tyre. Unless they change the trye and pump Nitogen gas in outher space for you.

Do take note if you decide to go back TCM, then u can totally forget about nitrogen and this question should not worry you any more.

Coz TCM only have air like any other petrol stations  :bleh:
